Good evening from Italy 👋 and 1.000.000 kudos to people like you Shovas. Moved by true passion, competence, hours and hours of testing and crystal commitment. What you did all these years allowed simple gamers like me to enjoy a rare Gem like GTR2 for years. Even used as strong base for PnG. And then run on track, not in a store to cope with increased GPU mandatory demand. I own an i5 4th gen. w/ Radeon HD 5800: stuff 10 years old at least. And GTR2-PnG run smoothly 99% of the time. Speechlees. The reshade is a beauty, the cars are very well done and the track. Only problem shadows under bridges and a bit dark scenary. But very nice. I have yet to try some of these tweaks. Thank you !

I've seen somebody asking which mods should be installed in GTR2. I suggest conversions from Rfactor. Let me explain: GTR2 (and the rest from Simbin) was almost the same game which is Rfactor. The main difference was that Simbin, mock them as modders if you prefer, putted its own cars and tracks in its games. This is also why Simbins were more expensive than Rfactor back in time, making (and licensing) cars costs! So, the biggest advantage of Simbin games is that they are fully playable out from the box. Meanwhile, Rfactor was something like a sandbox. There's been rfactorcentral with its HoF featuring milestones of modding, and Rfactor pro was for professional users, not e-sports athletes. Another thing I warn about in Simbin is that some modders added the same classes of vanilla cars to their mods, nothing difficult to remove but annoying, it ruins the original game's rooster, you risk to have a sUprA made by a kid running in the 2003 FIA GT championship perfectly recreated by Simbin. Today with less than 30£ you can buy the entire Simbin bundle on Steam, is not an unaffordable purchase, do it and shut up, at least to fund the mainteinance of theese games. Then, I suggest P&G, a GTR2 mod based on GTL but with several improvements. Resuming, Simbin games are good out of the box, if talking of content mod them just to expand them. The thing I always suggest is focusing on tracks, then install cars only if they are really worth. Now, sorry, but I reached the goal of not publicizing anyone and neither suggesting things that could have legal issues. Off course, mods that increase graphics like the post shader here shown have nothing wrong. Another valuable advantage of GTR2 on Rfactor is the weather, natively, like AC, Rfactor features only dry races so no dynamic weather at all, but trust me that if you wanna push something more in making your own mods Rfactor is better. For noobs I could say that if you want a car that has different wings, like various F1s that raced at Monaco, in GTR2 you cannot achieve that without creating a new car, specifically a .car file, .veh in Rfactor, which is the file that makes the istance of the car, describing on which races it can run and root of all the files needed to make a car (.hdc, .aud, .gen and so on) . Almost everything are text files, so, a text editor, Gmotor to work on .gtr archives, then trivially a graphic and sound editing program are sufficient to start modding

In That track version looks like when you drive under the bridge the screen turns dark. Strange?!! I use Sebring version by ZWISS and it doesn't have that effect.

I looked at tbe links, pick up the cars at trackholics, but unfortunately i can not see the cars in game. I tried everythi g no way. This applies to many other mods . There is something i just ignore to make them work. Just putting the car in teams is not enough I have to give up, but it is not so important, i have them in acc and other sim too. I could install succesfully other mods like fia gt 2000-2009 or btcc. The have some other files sim.tga, sim.txt ... Things like that

Ya this can run very well on 10 year old hardware (like my old i7 2600k from 2011 and a 980). Many people still praise GTR2's physics. It's using an early version of rFactor's physics and with SHO Competition FFB I think it really brings it out and shows it's not far behind even the latest sims (I think it's better than iRacing). It's really a combination of well modeled cars, a quality, good looking track, high resolution (including hires mirrors mod), good anti-aliasing settings, ReShade sharpening and lighting effects, and some visual bug fixes that come with the Crew Chief GTR2 Enhancements Plugin. Which camera do you mean? The grid walk? That's part of the game but the track has to support it. In the cockpit, the camera moves like that because I use TrackIR head tracking. You can also get "head physics" mods that simulate some movement using g-forces. Thanks for stopping by!

Nice. Bought this game on Steam but it doesn't work on Windows 11. When I try to start it, it just goes to endless graphics card selection loop. Many others have reported the same issue. Too bad. I'd love to play this game.

Yeah, to get the game going you have to do somethings, I had to put my game on Compatibility Mode (Windows XP) and installing the 4GB patch.

@@shovas Thanks man. I think I already tried that patch. Tried every trick on the book. People at RaceDepartment tried to help too which is appreciated. I went to all Nvidia settings, etc. installed old DX9, old Visual C++ Redistributables, tried all compatibility modes, ran it as administrator, etc. It's dead as Queen Elizabeth's bedroom. I've given up. My friend purchased it too and exact same thing... endless graphics card selection loop. Even more frustrating because I purchased the "Full Monty" which had GP Legends and many other games. They have the exact same issue. Too bad as I'd love to race it with the legendary 993 GT2. I heard there's a mod available. And many Assetto Corsa and iRacing fans have said a lot of good things about GTR2. I guess W11 was the death kiss for this game at least with certain graphics cards. They should remove it on Steam or release some kind of decent patch.

Updated my comment to be clear. In my mind, I was diffentiating between vanilla and HQ patch. There seems to be a misconception that you need HQ patch to look good. I even like the blurry clouds now for "vibes" since iRacing did it lol @@theironwolf
