Kind of like a junior version of Mother Teresa, who once said, 'God hath no greater love than for those to come to the need of a stranger in desperate need'. I'm sure he not only keeps notice about her huge amounts of money raised for charities, but that it began when she was 6 years old when she gave shoes off her feet to a poor, war torn girl in the mid-east, also vowing to never wear shoes when she performs in public in order to continue to remind others that it will be her policy until all poor children in the world have a pair of shoes to wear.

What hits the heart and squeeze the soul is, for me, Angelina's mix of raspiness, hoarse and cracked voice, nasal sounds, notes of vibrato and melismas that join the gravity of the tone. It progressively leads to the first shout at 6:08 , then to the spectacular Dimash's signature from 6:32 to 6:38, where the loud and forceful crying scream of pain stop suddenly, sharply, changing to a quick shift for a softer tone of resignation and withdrawal, like in a roller coaster from poignant emotional drops, twists and turns to a more soothed loneliness, where tries to dominate the comforting idea that "we are not alone". Notice how she pronouces differently the word "alone", maybe to signify that loliness is always felt in obsessive layers of solitude, smiling memories, longing, disorientation and submission to a quiet-presence loniness. What a masterpiece! Most certainly, the 2020 year end song!

The lyric video was something else! I loved it in so many ways. But actually seeing Angelina singing the song, my goodness, takes her amazing song to a whole new level! Some will cry, some will get chills, goosebumps or hairs standing up but EVERYONE will be able to feel her pain and also the comforting thought that her grandpa will always be watching out for her, be in her heart. That's what Angelina does with all of us, singing a cover or her own songs; she draws you to her world and takes you on a journey. She doesn't sing notes, she sings "emotions" with that unique and wonderful voice she has. And also this black and white video connects with her first in studio video "I Put a Spell On You" when she was 9 years old. Full cycle to start a new era in her career. Always coming from a caring, honest, genuine heart of hers. I think the world NEEDS to listen to this song and performance, honest!

It appeared in your LIVE today that you didn't really know why Angelina performs barefoot. I could be wrong about that, but just in case... She's done this, except for rehearsals, since age 6 in remembrance of an orphan girl near her age that she met on the street in the middle east. The girl was using bathroom scales and weighing people for money. It was cold, she was barefoot and her feet were scarred. They chatted and she wished Angelina luck in becoming a singing star, and told Angelina she would pray for her. Angelina, on the spot, gave her the sea green boots, her favorites, that she was wearing and told her to never give up on her dreams, and that she would always remember her. Angelina at 9 became Norway's youngest author when she wrote a book about it, "Mellom to hjerter" ("Between Two Hearts"). Angelina promised herself never to wear shoes when performing again until there were no more children around the world with no shoes, clothing, or family. Angelina has raised many millions of Euros and Dollars around the world performing at charity concerts since age 8. So to this day, almost 9 years later, Angelina always performs barefoot in public.

The artwork she and grandma did for the original release was awesome, but this magnificent video is epic! I think this will rival her other B&W from years past. I'm so happy for her successes all these years, and I think she has found a great home at Republic for her talent. Her uncle Michael deserves a lot of credit too, and of course her mother Sara for her protection and sharing her with the world. One day I'll get my greatest wish, to see her sing in person. Nice reaction G&T. She wrote this shortly after her other grandpa died in Nov. 2019 (dad’s dad), she was 13. Angie wrote this shortly after his death & recorded it this year at 14. Angie & her grandma did the art for the lyric video. Angelina said, “This song is dedicated to anyone who has lost a loved one. I wrote this song thinking about all the great memories I had with my grandpa and how much it hurts to lose someone. I hope this song finds a place in you heart, as it comes straight from mine”. Thanks for the reaction, Angelina tells the story and immerses us in the descriptions. All my life listening to music and thanks to Angie I understood that in music there are two types of singers and two types of listeners, both are valid. Those singers and listeners who focus on the melodic line, sound gymnastics and emotions that produce the vocal explosions. There are other singers (few singers in the history of music) who focus on the harmony of the musical composition, on the lyrics and its context. Does a songwriter have to be perfect on the melody line? I think not, a musical narrator is like a storyteller whose objective is for the person to enter the story and be trapped in a wonderful place. In particular I am excited to experience the event of meeting a musician like Angie, take advantage of this event because it occurs 1 every 100 years, there are singers and there will be many, but songwriters: they are a gift from God.
