Can’t you tell there is a huge difference between the host Eric and Chiang Wan-an? Chiang Wan-An’s English, at best, is like a high school kid. Attorney? No way!

@@pcavivien The other two candidates recognize their English is not that good. But they don’t try to pretend and they don’t try to fool the people in Taiwan. Chiang Wan An tried to fool the Taiwanese people by saying he has the global vision and international experience, by just speaking with his broken juvenile English. Com’on, he has no clothes on. But you keep saying he has a beautiful tuxedo on. What are his visions? What are his goals? Things he will do to accomplish the goals. The only thing that is of any significance he talked about was making reservation for the bus system.😂. He is a joke, and a disgrace to the voters who want to hear what he will do and accomplish as the mayor of Taipei. On the other hand, the other two candidates, not only have the experience and history of governing, have demonstrated their visions and how they will do it. Chiang Wan An has had no experience in governing any city. He had only scant experience in legislation. He is very good at critiquing other people which most people do very well.😅. But he never offered any solutions to problems, which most people can do as well.

He just pretends he can speak English…… what a joke. He speaks like a middle/high school kid. If he had all these visions of bringing some success of Silicon Valley to Taiwan, what has he done in the past 6 years as a legislator? Let’s be honest: he has done nothing, except criticizing what others have done. And let’s be constructive and present some real and sensible policies.

@Rc01012 жыл бұрын
@@tiahsian7014 no. His English is not fluent. Maybe he is ok to deal with a Chinese client. But to rate him for his English: D-. He would have a lot of trouble to keep a stable attorney job in the US. Even if he does not need to speak in the court of law, attorneys do need to negotiate/argue/present all day long. With the way he speaks, I don’t think he can survive in the Silicon Valley. Seriously. He probably backdoored into law school.
To those of you who made negative comments, I’d like to point out 2 things: 1) Chiang spoke with his own words not using help of a text screen like Tsai. Therefore, he’s well-qualified to be mayor of Taipei. 2) Have you ever heard the other candidate Chen speak a complete sentence in English?
@Musicwelovetoplay2 жыл бұрын
What’s with your fixation around reading from a prompter ? CEOs , world leaders all use that just that you dont see it from your screen. It’s a very commonly used aid in public speaking. If you really want to criticize someone, do it constructively.

It is very sad to see half of the people commenting his English is good. No, his English is very poor. So please don’t fool yourselves. When he has no clothes on, please don’t keep saying his tuxedo is looking nice. Please tell him the truth. After law school, he was just an intern. An intern is just a beginner, trying to figure how things work. So please don’t say he was a capable attorney; no he was not yet a capable attorney; he was just an intern. He interned for two years in the Silicon Valley. The Truth, from my perspective: English is poor, he has no substance in his policy making. He is good at criticizing other government officials, but he could not offer any solutions.😅. He is just trying to appear he has international experience by saying a few English sentences. So please pleaes please, don’t fool yourselves by saying his English is good.😅. An Apple is an Apple; an orange is an orange. Please don’t try to pretend what you are not. It’s not that he chooses his words carefully. He is just slow…..he is the same way when he speaks Mandarin. This was a rehearsed interview. Can you imagine if this was not rehearsed? He cannot be in a spontaneous interview even in Mandarin. He did that a few times; they were total disasters.

You called that fluent English?? I think he really needs to improve his speaking capabilities……………and his vocabularies: maybe middle/high school level, at best; a lot of Chinglish. It’s very amusing to me that some viewers think knowing how to speak some English (in his case, it’s Chinglish) equates to having good global vision to take Taipei to the next level. He is just fooling the Taiwanese people, pretending he can speak English, with his very limited vocabularies. Jus ask yourselves: what has he accomplished,as a legislator, in the past 6 years? It seems to me that the much of his “accomplishment” is to criticize other people’s achievements. When Taiwan has done very well in dealing with the pandemic, which has been recognized internationally, he made up these lies about how badly Taiwan has done in dealing with the pandemic. He lies with no shame…….
Doesn't matter what kind of accents they are.. 如果不是我们的first mother tongue language..either from Singapore ,India or Philippines they are all spoken well English too..只要grammatical 对就是了。
