Thank you for the stainless steel gua sha! There was a dr. on KZbin who recently demonstrated that we should open up the lymphatic drainage pathways on the neck before beginning a facial massage. She said only do this on one side of the neck at a time - light pressure, using oil,from the back of the ear and down the side of the neck then moving toward the middle of the collar bone. Do this 10 times each side. Then begin whatever massage. I thought it was worth passing along.

According to Chinese skin professional Lanshin on KZbin, the gua sha tool should be nearly flat on the face when used, and not at a sharp 95 degree angle. She has an excellent how-to for this marvelous device. And her skin is amazing.

I saw a Chinese on KZbin who specifically mentioned that you're not supposed to use the edge of the guasha to massage. You need to hold it in a way that the flat surface of guasha massages your face. That means you need to hold it inclined to your face. That is beneficial to skin. Using the edge isn't the right practice. That's what that Chinese Gua Sha expert had said. Here, what I see is that you're using the edges to massage. I guess you should try that method so you can see if it really makes a difference.

Leave the facial oil on your face unless you find it to be too much for your skin in the morning. If you are doing Gua Sha at night leave on for extra hydrating benefits. You can add a moisturizer over to seal in the serum.

Wonderful idea! Can you recommend an oil that's not so expensive! Wow, those oil are WAY above my pay grade! Can you use moisterizer with a Gua Sha stone? The other thing that would help us is a larger version of your "how to use", like a pdf of it. Some of us don't have the greatest eysight. Or does that come with the box and stone??? I am going to get a few of your Gua Shas as gifts for my nieces! Good question Jac After and before each use, we recommend using a soft microfiber cloth to wipe the gua sha tool clean to prevent the spreading of any bacteria onto your skin. Also for a deeper cleanse, you can dampen the cloth with soapy water (water + your cleanser) before wiping the tools.
