The reservoir looks very drawn down, a testament to the ongoing drought conditions in Spain.

A standard one bedroom apartment in the "new" town will cost around €60,000 but they don't come up too often. There's no public transport unless you count the bus that brings tourists from Benidorm. That takes around an hour and is once a day so not practical to use at all. You need a car to live here. There is nowhere to buy food unless you drive or just eat in one of the great restaurants (try La Venta). There's also nowhere to get gas for your cooker so you'll have to drive to the next village. During the season try the public swimming pool at the bottom end of the village. It's open until midnight and serves basic food but everybody hangs out there. The season started on 15/6. Try La Petita for the best croquetas you've ever had. I'm starting to worry about the water level in the reservoir. It hasn't been this low in years.

Hello, great channel. A question please. Are you are resident of Spain or do you just stay in the country in your property for the 90 days tourist visa? I’m asking because we are contemplating buying a property there and not staying there the 180 days to not trigger tax residency. My wife is an EU citizen so residency is not a problem but unsure whether getting residency makes sense for taxes. Hope this makes sense.
