I wanna go here SOOO bad! Great Whites are my favorite animal, ever! I wanted to be a marine biologist strictly for Great Whites. Cage diving in Guadalupe is #1 on my bucket list. I hope I can go one day. The research & knowledge these researchers & biologists are doing for these incredible animals is amazing.

I have said for a loooong time that, if given the option, I could do #1 on my bucket list and ONLY #1, OR #s 2-10, I would still do just #1 which is Guadalupe GWS cage diving!

@Greg_gregson6 жыл бұрын
Attracting sharks so they become comfortable around boats is a stupid thing to do, putting people's lives at risk, sharks will look at boats as a feed source . So stupid
@steveshelton30816 жыл бұрын
Mike Randall i know. People are stupid. I'm an avid hunter and have been my whole life. And most hunters respect the woods and the animals. You come across bear sign, and you walk out and leave them alone. Same with wolves. You're in their territory. So when you come across any predator in the woods or their territory you just back out and leave out of respect, and also its dangerous. These shark freaks that like to push limits by swimming with them and getting sharks used to them and then film it and make the world think they are cuddly creatures are so irresponsible and just plain stupid. It's one thing if your fishing and they come up. That's going to happen. That would be like me going into a bears or wolf den just for fun because i love them and want to show the world how cool they are. They are prehistoric wild killing machines. Piss it off enough, or its hungry enough, they will attack. More and more whites are starting to attack boats. Even bigger boats. They need to respect them but also fear them a little. With fear brings wisdom and respect. From what i heard, mostly the people attacked by wild predators on land like bears, mountain lions, wolves, ect are campers, hikers, people looking for adventures. Hunters respect them and their territory and know where to go and not to go. And if we come across sonething that's not right, we leave. We're not thrill seekers. Yes hunters obviously have been attacked by wild animals. Many times. Your in the woods long enough its bound too happen. But, like i said, we don't go looking for them or trouble. Unless your targeting that specific animal. And even then, you have to be smart about it
@nautilusmike6 жыл бұрын
I respect your opinion but disagree. There has been considerable independent scientific research on the question of whether shark behaviour is changed by our activities at Guadalupe Island. The scientists concluded that the sharks behaviour was not changed. I think of it more like someone grabbing a handful of candy as they walk past a bowl filled with M&Ms. There is an enormous benefit to the sharks in what we do ie. last year, we hosted almost 2000 guests onboard - divers and non-divers - most of whom saw a great white shark for the first time. It's a deeply emotional experience seeing these beautiful animals. It makes us want to protect these sharks. It makes us even more determined to stamp out shark finning. It deepens our compassion for the way humans are wiping out the oceans. I am very proud of what we do at Guadalupe

@nautilusmike6 жыл бұрын
You are very entitled to your opinion. But quoting a bunch of local guys in the pub doesn't make for a convincing argument. The scientists quoted in the article support our theory. I encourage you to come out on one of our trips to experience this for yourself. If you don't think my opinions are credible after 3 days of diving with the beautiful animals, I will refund 100% of your trip cost. It's up to you.

@nautilusmike6 жыл бұрын
Sorry but I beg to differ with your definition. Sharks belong to the phylum chordata. The five most well known classes of vertebrates (animals with backbones which are part of chordata) are mammals, birds, fish, reptiles and amphibians. Fish are most certainly animals in my opinion

Omari Joseph Omari Joseph this article literally proves the opposite of your point: the article states that some people *inaccurately* assume that fish aren't animals. By definition all sharks are members the kingdom animalia therefore they are animals. Facts are facts, you don't get to just make things up. I can say that the sky is green but that doesn't make it true...
