Guadalupe River Fishing: Is Lake Dunlap Back?!?! (NuCanoe Unlimited)

In this video I hit Lake Dunlap for the first time since the Dam was rebuilt. The fishing was good, but it was better to see the lake returning to its former glory. Although Dunlap is technically a lake, it is essentially the Guadalupe river and fishes as such. I really enjoy this body of water and look forward to fishing here more in the future. Yep they continue to evolve! Spot lock is one of those things that changed the game for me. I love it and can’t imagine not having it on my fishing boat/kayak. Tight lines🤙🏼

We just bought a 14ft canoe. Where do you usually launch on lake Dunlap?

Id launch at Shumans Beach launch or under I-35. Both are good spots. I-35 launch is a little raunchy at times, but it’s free. Schumans will set you back 10-15 bucks to launch, but it’s a more quiet ramp.

On Dunlap there aren’t too many bank fishing opportunities due to most of the shoreline being private property for homes. Under the I-35 bridge is the only place you can bank fish as far as I know. Hope this helps!

No it’s mostly a private lake …unfortunately ….my frustration with these lakes is they are on the Guadalupe river there should be more public access….I’ve heard the i35 ramp is very sketchy area
