I am a nurse and had two patients last year that came into the ER with bat bites. One got a bite while walking at night with their dog and another patient got one in a warehouse at a party (not fun times)! Also, one of my friends parents got one while camping.

FYI - Gwyneth also has a house in Montecito (see AD home tour) so she is probably not leaving LA. For any other gwyneth stans, i recommend the podcast goop yourself. It unfortunately just ended last week but there is like 8 years of backlog content to listen to. The hosts sound like alexis and david from schitts creek and they do not share the same toasty views on israel but it is so mindless and funny and you'll learn a ton about gwyneth, my queen.

Sour dough cheat sheet! I can’t help it I want to help, it’s so fool proof! Every Week weigh the jar and discard the extra starter and feed starter as listed below. Remove starter to leave only 100 g of starter in the jar. Feed the starter with 100 ml of warm water and 50 g unbleached white flour and 50 g unbleached whole wheat flour. Save it for next week: You can then close the jar and place it in the fridge for a week. After a week the jar should be removed from the fridge bring it to room temp and repeat the procedure listed above. and place back in fridge if you don’t want to make bread. To Use to make Bread: After feeding the starter you can place a towel over the jar so it can breathe and leave it over night. In the morning repeat the process above of discarding some of the starter leaving 100 g behind and re feed the starter as listed above. If feeding at 7 am, the starter will be ready to be used by lunch time. At 12 pm you can take 115 g of the starter and place in bowel. Re feed the starter as listed above and discard any of the extra starter. Weigh out: • 300 g whole wheat flour • 460 g Bread Flour • 85 g Dark Rye Flour • 650 g warm water Mix in the 115 g of starter with 650 g of water and then the flour. Mix very well with hand. It is a very sticky dough. Cover in bowel with saran and rest for 20 mins. Weigh 17 g of Real Salt. Mix in by hand in a scrunching motion and then kneading til it comes together. Place dough in greased bowel. Write out a sticky note to flip every 30 mins for 4 hours so total of 8 flips. And then you shape. Then you use bench scraper to flip over dough, and then you figure eight braiding it and then tuck roll it under.Placeeach loaf in a parchment paper lined loaf pan. Cover with a towel and then plastic bag and put in the fridge over night. In the morning remove bread from fridge and let it come to room temp( About 2 hours) preheat oven to 480 with a big roasting pan in bottom rack of the oven. Take off the plastic and towel off bread. Score with a razor on top of the bread. Boil a kettle of water. Place loaves in oven and pour the kettle water in the roasting pan. Careful the steam pours up and can spit in hot pan. Put timer on for 20 mins. After 20 mins take the pan of water out. Reduce temp to 460 and cook for 17 mins. Remove and let rest for an hour or two before cutting into it.

I think yes bats live pretty much anywhere that has woods and water nearby, typically harmless, not sure what happened w the one in the story tho… they eat mosquitoes so we love that. Squirrels are fine just kinda dirty but they can be smart… there was a pregnant squirrel that lived in a tree outside my work years ago and we trained her to come to the door at lunch time to get a snack, she brought her babies to meet us and raised them around us all it was so cute.
