What is the reason to go gun in wing T? The only reasons I can see would be a run threat qb or to throw the ball more. Let me know, just trying to understand the why

In the gun, the QB is a real threat to run the football. Also, we have a lot of "read" plays, where we leave an unblocked defender. If the QB is under center, his back constantly turns towards the defense.
