We are instructed to mark those who live in habitual unrepentant sin, and avoid them, there’s no qualifier as far as who is living in habitual sin, so being around an addict Is no different than bad company corrupting good morals. encouraging a Christian to stay with a spouse who has an active addiction in a sinful activity is in my opinion, abusive! I say this from experience, addicts by nature are abusive, and to encourage anyone to stay with an abuser And to not enabled them Is impossible, and seems contrary to the scripture to me!

But, what about this Bible verse: "When a message from the LORD came to Hosea, the LORD told him, "Go marry a prostitute and have children with her." Hosea 1:2 Seems like God is pretty ok with screwing around, even commanded it.

God said go 'marry' a prostitute, not just go have children with her. Prostitute represented Israel, and how Israel prostituted herself with idols (false gods).
