Proverbs 4:23-26 instructs believers to "Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. Keep your mouth free of perversity; keep corrupt talk far from your lips. Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you. Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways." When Solomon refers to guarding the heart, he really means the inner core of a person, the thoughts, feelings, desires, will, and choices that make that person who he/she is. The Bible tells us that our thoughts often dictate who we become (Proverbs 23:7, 27:19). The mind of a man reflects who he really is, not simply his actions or words. That is why God examines the heart of a man, not simply his outward appearance and what he appears to be (1 Samuel 16:7).

Great comparison of how many of us make sure our “precious” automobile is always locked when we park it and then often we forget how valuable our heart is and do not guard it adequately.

I don't give a crap what anyone thinks about my private life or my faults, I don't answer to anyone but God & Jesus has already paid the price for me on the Cross so even when I fail & I do everyday, I'm still the Righteousness of God in Christ

The book of 1 John was written to Christians. The apostle says, “If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:8-9). It is clear from this passage that even those who have been born again and redeemed by the blood of Jesus will still sin. Through thought, attitude, or action, we will “grieve” (Ephesians 4:30) and “quench” (1 Thessalonians 5:19) the Holy Spirit at times. But this passage also reassures us that God offers continual, ongoing grace whenever we agree with Him about our sin and ask for His cleansing. When a true child of God goes astray, our Father administers discipline to bring him back into obedience. Hebrews 12:7-8 says, “It is for discipline that you have to endure. God is treating you as sons. For what son is there whom his father does not discipline? If you are left without discipline, in which all have participated, then you are illegitimate children and not sons.” If a professing Christian can choose a lifestyle of sin without experiencing enough discipline to bring him to repentance, then according to this Scripture, it is highly unlikely that that person is a child of God.

Truth is (and I speak honestly and direcytly to any caught up in any impurity) if you are constantly asking and expecting God . . . even in tears, you are using God as a scapegoat and an excuse, YOU must take responsibility for your actions and face your vile choices . . .when you do decidedly and with true repentence, choose to STOP and give-up your sin . . . actually confess this with a broken heart --God THEN gives you all the power you need at your disposal, to do what you really have as the will/desires of your contrite heart -- and it MIUST BE BY FAITH . . . (remember God's Word: " But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him." -- Hebrews 11:6. The decision for me has been 13 years ago, and i have absolutely no desire to ever go back! Praise God! There was another sin that was related, but not the same, and the same thing has happened: I now HATE SIN, but have a great empathy for anyone struggling with such addictions. The devil is a shrewd deceiver and knows exactly how to charm you and rationalize you into dropping your values and standards. BUT GOD IS GREATER, and like the Prodigal's Father, MY HEAVENLY FATHER, was so loving and merciful! Don't continue, my friends . . . it frightens me for myself, when I think how close to destruction I was and how God so lovingly responded . . . but YOU must start the process by your total REPENTENCE (a changing of your mind about the sin, and your responsibiity to change -- there is no greater waste of time, energy, and your life than to listen to the wiles of the devil and be deceived into being so beguiled and devestated, because no sin measures up to the glamor and pleasure -- whatever the temptation is . . . and you will only be a victim of hurt. One word of caution . . . satan will only try to keep you under his control, and will constantly try and use the past to ruin you in the present. YOU MUST forgive yourself after obtaining the washing of Jesus' Blood or satan will constantly be after you and ruin what the Lord has already forgiven. BUT PLEASE . . . whatever you do, repent and get your heart right with God . . . Jesus is coming in the Rapture soon -- BE READY!

When he gives a sermon it really catches you and speaks to you. I love hearing Gods word through Pastor Lutzer. Does anybody know where to find a prayer he did using the 23rd Psalm? I heard it on Moody Radio once but only caught part of it. I loved the Prayer and wanted to hear it in full. Maybe it was a sermon using the 23rd Psalm, I cant quite remember. I heard it last year 2016 or maybe the year before and have been trying to find it since

Does A Believers Inner Man Or Woman Have To Sin? 09:21:2014

I am not saying no sin in me, my outer man. But inner man, oh I cannot agree the misuse of 1 John 4 as a "whipping boy." Nor, Romans 7 beginning with v 15 as whipping boy.

Claude Nickerson “Sin” is any thought, word, or action that is contrary to the character or law of God. We all sin (Romans 3:23), and even what we consider good deeds are often tainted by selfish motives or pride (Isaiah 64:6). Left to ourselves, it is impossible to please God or to be completely free from sin (Romans 3:10;Ecclesiastes 7:10). When we come to Christ by faith and trust Him to forgive and cleanse us of all our sin, we are in that moment born again (@2). God gives the@2;Romans 8:5-6). Whereas we were formerly slaves to sin, we are now “slaves to righteousness” (Romans 6:16). Sin’s control has been broken by the power of Jesus (Romans 6:6;Titus 2:14).

Claude Nickerson Do Christians sin? Yes. Do they willfully continue in sin? No. Scripture indicates that, while we will always “fall short of the glory of God” .

"f we claim to be without sin" But please notice, that John is talking about those, who LIVE in sin and deny that. Those are the ones, who deceives themselves. He did NOT say, that all born again christians are still sinners - in fact that would contradict the whole scripture as well as the fact of christ's redemption on the cross. John makes that clear right at the beginning of his letter, as he wrote it and repeats it several times. Here are two examples: "If we say that we have fellowship with him, AND WALK IN DARKNESS, we lie, and do not the truth: (1. John 1,6) "He that saith, I know him, AND KEEPETH NOT HIS COMMANDMENTS, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. "1. John 2,4" In other words: A person, who claims to be a christian, but do not obey the words of Jesus, is that person really a christian then? It's exactly the same what Jesus told in Luke 6,46: "And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, AND DO NOT THE THINGS WHICH I SAY? So then, please keep in mind: "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we WERE yet sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5,8) Or "Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord." (Romans 6,11) And many many other verses... Hope that helps you

People tend to think that all the money preachers get is from their preaching. Well, in a way it is, but in a good way. Erwin Lutzer, Adrian Rogers, and many others get most of their money from the books they write about God. With God's help they earn money from the books they write. Some get a bit, some get a lot. They are doing God's work, but with their own hands. And even then, most of them do tithe of the monies they earn. Don't judge a person until you really know how they get their money. They serve God and God blesses them.
