Yongding district in Fujian Province is the site of Zhencheng Tulou, built in 1912. Hailed as the "Prince of Tulous," this magnificent structure is not only beautiful, but also designed with unique defensive features. Lin Rigeng, the owner, has spent the past 30 years as Yongding's first tulou guide, in which time he has welcomed over a million visitors. Passionate about sharing his family's history and stories of the tulous, Lin says, "I won't go anywhere; I'll guard it." Through his engaging narrative, visitors not only come to admire these architectural marvels, but also feel the wisdom and resilience of the Hakka people.
