The two ponies that were being chased was actually Derpy's daughter and her daughter's babysitter. So, seeing that they are in danger, Derpy's motherly instincts kicked in to fight and defend her little one and close friend. So, this animation always gives me goosebumps cause it shows how much she loves her baby girl and her friend.
