I know a 17 year old girl is not the intended demographic for both this review OR the lunchbox and thermos, but I love this video for its pure manly-man energy and the no-frills attitude. You can line it with foil backed bubble wrap insulation doesnt take up any space and increases insulation factor by alot

I put CLP on the latches of my grandfather's old pre Stanley lunch box, thermos brand they were bought out by Stanley. I have a box like yours newer model I went with green to match all my other Stanley the vacuum bottles and such. I recently bought a 2 quart Stanley Thermos love it. Iced tea in the Texas summer heat you can't beat it. It saved my life twice this summer. I'm a diabetic we don't don't cope the heat like other people do. I have a 1 gallon I keep in the truck for refills.

Just bought a thermos last night. I drive a cab and I've beat the hell out of a bunch of gear already. This Stanley thermos has crashed to the floor already and no leaks. Now that I know they make a lunch box, I WANT ONE! This looks sturdy and strong and since I'm moving for 12-14 hours a day and shaking constantly, I need something really durable. You would not believe the memories this brings back. My grandfather had one for years. After, he retired I got it. It has gone missing through time but I sure wished I still had it. I have been looking at getting another one. I would love to know where your wife got the sandwich box. Geat review.

BTW, our box was over 20 years old. The design has changed slightly but, the handle never fell off.

I have the same lunchbox and thermos. I use the "LunchBlox" modular system for food and ice blocks. They fit perfectly with many options for assembly plus the ice blocks simply snap in however you build it. I put a kitchen hand towel down on the bottom and place the modular LunchBlox on top of it. Excellent and extremely durable lunch system.

You can put the thermos under the thck mental strip, it holds just as well, and you don't need to struggle fixing in the thin aluminium bar to hold it in place.

I bought the thermos, it spill lots of liquid. It does good job with the heat conservation, but you have to open the lid all the way. Really heavy duty construction. I work at night shift at drilling rigs ... Construction wise was the construction that I was searching for but spilled coffee is not good

Your sandwich box looks like a British mess kit. Henry Repeating Arms makes a survival kit in a tin like that, the BCB style. Anyway, thanks for the review.

It is the 10 quart. I was unaware that they made a 5 quart. My wife got it for me and she said she grabbed it at Wal Mart. Around 30$ I believe.

I got a pink drink thermos from Stanley about 12 years ago. I can put tea or coffee in the morning and in the afternoon it will still be hot. How?? Did I mention it was bright pink? Lol

The wire that holds the thermo is not very strong once the thermo is full of liquid, it tends to fall off. It needs a modification.

i use that same wide mouth thermos(easy to clean) for soup stew and any thing hot food wise fill with boiling water first dump out put in soup or stwe works well i have even tried taking ice cream for lunch didnt keep it to solid by lunch if i ate sooner would have been better lol

Many many Grandfathers have eaten their lunch from a Stanley lunch box and coffee from a Stanley thermos. And some of those Stanley pieces are still around!!

Hubby got one from Christmas from Costco. The thermos looks a little different though. He works in Construction and a lot of times they work out in the rain. This lunch box in my opinion has a design flaw. The lip around the front is good but it stops short. As noted in the video. the back and part of the sides do not have this lip and the bottom is slightly larger than the top it allows water to pour through the opening. The old lunch boxes didn't have this problem. How they didn't notice this I don't have a clue. All they had to do is look at a old lunch box for a design. It's not rocket science. It figures though.... too many people playing around doing nothing and wanting to get paid very well for it. I would not recommend this lunch box to my friends or to anyone. And by the way we returned it which is too bad since metal lunch boxes are the best.

Well, everytime i put the food jar In my dinner bucket, even empty, it falls out. Don't get me wrong I love my food jar and dinner bucket both but it just wont stay in place for some reason. I have all stanley products and they are the best. Food jar and several coffee thermos' . I bought another stanley food jar the 16oz for soup. One can of tomato soup fits nice in the jar and jar fits nice in dinner bucket.

Don't bet on that handle snapping anytime soon..I have one from the 70's and it's still throwing down like new. Also, I think that the handle may be polypropylene..which is the world's most durable plastic.. yeah, that shit can only be destroyed in the fires of Mount Doom..

It's not great then, you really should be able to trust it dropping in a sandwich wrapped in wax paper and it protect it. This seems more a test of a thermos flask and the aluminium sandwich holder.
