I'm waiting to see which club is dumb enough to take him next! In the second half of the euro 20 final he couldn't respond to Italy's tactical changes. Then when it got to penalties he let several of the senior players bottle it leaving inexperienced players to carry the can. He should have gone after that.

In my younger years, I would have killed for a boss as loyal as Gareth Southgate. However, I think it can be detrimental to performance in the long term especially if a boss is too soft. The fans aren’t complaining about the players. They are complaining about the strategy of Gareth Southgate & wonder why it’s not working out given the calibre of the players. He doesn’t say what he’s going to do about the situation going forward.
