35:07 Rocket’s line describing Yandu as someone who “stole batteries he didn’t need” references both Peter - a celestial battery, whom the Ravagers “stole” from Ego by not delivering him as originally promised - and perhaps the Orb / Power Stone from Volume 1 - a powerful energy source for which Yandu had no clear use. Rocket isn’t merely confusing himself with Yandu, he is learning that “monsters,” like himself and Yandu, are lovable against their best attempts to lie, cheat, steal, and hold grudges against a world that has treated them poorly.

I think it was established Yondu knew what would happen to Quill if he did bring him to Yondu. So he never did and and just adopted him as his son.

I have to say one of my favorite line deliveries in any of the these films is when Gamora says "I thought you'd already had" her voice almost sounds different because she is completely crushed by Peter's ego and I think that is such a perfect line reading
@BrokeredHeart Жыл бұрын
A couple of my own observations to tack on here: 1) @23:20 when Gamorra is sitting out in the field after her fight with Peter, I actually thought those two "dancing" reeds were symbolizing Mantis' antennae, recalling the scene in Ego's ship where she demonstrated her empathic abilities and Gamorra had to cut her short before revealing her innermost thoughts about Quill to the room. She looked embarrassed by the realization that Peter had that "deep, romantic, sexual love" for her, and didn't want to admit publicly that she feels the same way about him (at least at this point in their trilogy). So slicing off the dancing antennae was like cutting off her own feelings, shutting herself away and preventing herself from having empathy, and denying her feelings for Peter after being rejected by him for his father. 2) @26:00 I would argue that by stealing the batteries from the Sovereign, Rocket's not taking them to establish control over his own life, it's to prove that he has even greater power over god-like creatures. He wanted to show High Priestess Aisha that even immortals are vulnerable, and that she should not underestimate those who she considers lesser species. His own ego justified taking them because he's spent most of his life being degraded and tortured by figures with superiority complexes, and a drive to perfect evolution so they think they can look down on others. He wasn't about to be insulted and then leave without settling the score against a species that claims their genetic makeup is greater than anyone else's, especially knowing that they have such destructive capabilities against even the most powerful beings in the universe. I think when he tells Peter that he stole the batteries solely "because I *wanted* to" was a clue to how he probably intended to use them - to blow up Wyndham and his genetics lab, thus freeing his friends and himself from the unbearable torture inflicted on them. He had to use them in a pinch to blow up Ego instead, thus validating his point that even gods have their weaknesses.

The guardians of the Galaxy movies are genuinely some of my favorite marvel movies, but also some of my favorite movies ever in general. When I first watched it with my dad and little sister, I didn’t know it would become such a important memory in my life. It not only got me into marvel, and all of the lore had to offer but it’s one of my favorite memories with them and once this next movie comes out, I know I’m going to cry. I don’t think I’ve ever cried in a movie theater before but I can already tell that I’m going to be in my feels.

Watching this for the first time after Vol 3 came out and having seen it, I can’t help but wish you had waited on this video until after you watched it as well. You get so much of 1 and 2 right and it’s so good. But you got a lot of 3 wrong. I mean, not the parts you discerned from the trailer. But the celestial stuff was all wrong. How the battery part has anything to do with 3. There’s probably more I can’t recall right now. I really hope you get a chance to redo this deep dive properly with all three because I’d really like to see you pull it all together. @spriken Жыл бұрын
I don't think Meredith or Peter were different at all and I also think way more of his children had the gene. What was different was Peter being an adult when he met him. He took Mantis as a child and we know Yondu brought him other children. Ego doesn't seem like the type to wait around and raise them. Aside from Mantis being useful and keeping her, I bet he didn't do much more than he didn't for walking Peter how to use the power and when they failed due to immaturity he gave up on them and killed them.

A really criminally underrated MCU movie. I didn't appreciate it enough when I first saw it. Looking back, it's really compelling. It's just that, compared to the first movie, it didn't live up to the magic that was Vol. 1. Also, Kurt Russell as Ego the Living Planet is an underrated MCU villain.

Keep in mind when they were sending Groot to look for the fin it came out he doesn't like hats because he doesn't know if the person's head is shaped weird.This is how Groot thinks. My two guesses as to why Groot got hung up on that button were, one, It was on the right so it should be the right button or second(and most likely), It looks like a tree branch so may have looked more attractive to a tree.
