Chris Pratt's performance in this scene is superb. There are no words spoken, just him sitting there, but the look on his face and the subtle tears welling up in his eyes convey every necessary emotion. It's brilliant imo.
@toddsands60007 жыл бұрын
Peter Quill's love for his mother was deep throughout the movie. I nearly shed a tear at the very beginning of the movie when a young Peter Quill witnessed his mother's last moments alive. I think he regretted so much that he did not hold his mother's hand just before she died. This scene was nice. And the classic music his mother made for his son definitely never hurt. It was a nice touch one of Earth's most favorite cultures being shared throughout the galaxy.
@TonyQuinn7 жыл бұрын
I agree wholeheartedly. My mom went through cancer so that part of the movie hit me hard. The part about her making the music for him also chokes me up. It was definitely a welcome dose of emotion in what could have been a simple blockbuster.

This scene has gotta be my favorite for one simple reason: When the music starts playing, that is GENUINELY most likely the first time he's heard new music in 26 YEARS. Yeah, he might've heard it on earth, but the fact that he listened to the same songs for nearly 30 years before FINALLY getting to hear something NEW is crazy.
@wilsonramirez5956 Жыл бұрын
It's crazy how music or specifically a song has such an effect. Especially when you haven't heard it in a while. Nostalgia and the feels.

Seeing the scenes with Peter remembering his Mom always brings tears to my eyes... It's hard losing your mother & isn't around anymore & you miss her. It made me think of myself & how I lost my mom when I was young it hurts like hell but always remember the good things about the person who gave you life to live with others to care for you means so much especially as a life lesson. That's why this movie is one of my top favorites. :') My mother will always love me & I will as well in spirt to "Never Give Up".

Chris Pratt did such an amazing job with this character. You really get the feeling that this man, who loves music like he loves his mother, is listening to a song he may not have heard since he was taken from earth. It's the ultimate version of finding a song you didn't know, but had stuck in your head. I love it
@vidydvici9 жыл бұрын
It really shows how far Peter has come along. He didn't let the loss of his mother destroy his will to become who he is. I teared up realizing what hes gone through versus my own problem and let me tell you, losing a mother that loves you is hard to take in especially at a young age and im blessed to still have mine. love this scene.

Fuck the "Mr. Stark, I don't feel so good" scene...THIS is the most emotional scene in the MCU. The depth in this scene alone is more than most of all the other MCU films combined. Something this film had that most of the others, especially Vol. 2 lacked, are moments of genuine depth and emotion. That's one of the many reasons why this is my favorite film of the MCU. I'm a grown-ass man who almost never cries, but this shit broke me.

My ma just died this march 18 2018.. Always supported me in my silly schemes. I cried watching this.. Love u ma you're in a better place :'( EDIT: Im now a lawyer ma, full fledged! I remember coming to law school half baked since i had to read and take care of you all day and night and my professors yelled at me for giving wrong answers when i was just so tired everyday and night and kept going cause i really wanted you to live. I would have sold my soul for you to buy time but that was impossible and even if it was you wanted my soul intact with myself and you'd gladly accept your fate thanking the family and me for the time we spent before you went away. No amount of prestige from a license nor can a thick amount of wealth can ever replace the honor of being your son living under the privilege of having you as my mother. See you in Valhalla ma, where all warriors go. You saved lives in the hospital and clinics, I hope you watch me save lives in court and in the streets. Love, Your Guardian Devil.

I love that at face value you can infer Peter wants to be a hero so he can be like the action heroes he saw in the movies back on earth. But seeing things like this it's he wants to do right be the right hero for his mom. That's especially why he chose Starlord. Not to be a badass movie hero but the hero his mom saw.
