TOTally (lol) agree with you. I've ridden DCA and WDW's ToT before DCA switched to Guardians, and I will say that DCA's paled in comparison to the original ToT. It was smaller, due to space limitations - lacked the 5th dimension sequence which is one of the most memorable parts of the ride, not to mention the feat of engineering, and DCA's due to how it was constructed, could not let guests off at an underground floor before returning to the loading station. Seeing people exiting the"haunted elevator" shaft really cut the tension of what ToT does in Orlando. The Themeing in WDW's is Imagineering at it's best- it's spooky, unnerving, and otherworldly starting from when you approach the attraction, through the queue, the pre-show, and the entire ride. Plus also, up until the re-theme, DCA's ToT didn't have randomized drops- something that the original ToT adapted after a few years of operation to up the scare-factor and re-rideability. The Meta-ness of Rocket's "Disneyland?! That's thematically inconsistent"in Guardians' also points out another issue of where the DCA attraction was located- because Disney didn't want to have a "scary attraction" near the DCA Main Street entrance, which is themed more so to Old Hollywood, ToT got relegated to the backlot and it stuck out between the more modern buildings and looks - DCA didn't have space to properly do the Sunset Drive of WDW's to really mix in the modern and new of Sunset to accommodate the transition to the "Dark Side of Hollywood" of ToT's aesthetic. So it was stuck between the Backlot and the former Bug's Life Land and its sight-lines, something that Disney is usually so diligent about, had that immersion-breaking sight of Disneyland; in WDW'syou still see "Hollywood"of Hollywood Studios. Guardians works better as it being a "Gantry Lift" and taking the spookiness out of the ride. Seeing people getting off a gantry lift when you enter is less of an immersion break, and more "we got into shenanigans" vibe, which is ultimately what GotG is in spirit. It's going to be the transition point into the Avenger's campus, so it no longer sticks out as a "well we know this is a fan-fave ride, so might as well put it in this park because we really need an E-ticket attraction to save this park" decision that was made for DCA. And honestly, as a fun adventure ride where people turn it into a partybox the minute the music comes on, I can go over and over on this ride. However, ToT in WdW is too unnerving to go more than once (again, hat tip to Disney Imagineering on this). Also the music of GotG is fun - never thought riding a free-fall type ride to Parliament's "Give Up the Funk" or to "I want You back" by the Jackson 5 would work, but it totally does. So as sad as I was originally to see ToT go in DCA, the ride that replaced it is so much stronger and it was done with a lot of love and care. It wasn't just a paint job and sticking some props, the ride got a total rework. Plus, given that it is The Collector's hold, it has allowed Disney to place a lot of Disneyland / Disney easter eggs - from references to ToT, to the original Matterhorn Yeti (what up, Harold!), 2001 Leagues, Figment from EPCOT, etc- among the MCU props and animatronics without them being out of place. So until you ride GotG please don't hate on it strictly because it's no longer ToT. It took a good ride conceptand made it so much better than the budget version of the WDW ToT.

I’ve only ridden it with “Give up the Funk” and “Hit Me with your Best Shot”. Out of those rides, “Give up the Funk” was the best but this one looks so much better!
