I didn't like how after this came out people were complaining about how Gamora was being bitchy and rude. That was the whole point. She wasn't the same Gamora, she's not even the Gamora from Guardians 1. Also shows why Thanos really loved her, she was completely ruthless.
@MrMnM-ed5ht Жыл бұрын
Plus she was constantly compared to and asked to be like her past-self, not just by Quill but practically those same audience members in a meta-sorta way. She managed to stay calm about it til eventually she had enough, I don’t blame her

She sorta was. She was the Gamora from right before Guardians 1. Like literally the same week. But what she didnt get was the oppurtunity to try and escape like Guardians 1 Gamora did. Because instead of taking the Stone to sell on Xandar it got intercepted and all the stuff with Endgame happened. So it really is an interesting look at a character. Because its almost the exact same starting point as Guardians 1 Gamora since she still does make the choice to leave Thanos but she makes that decision because of Nebula instead of being alone and doing it and then finding the Guardians. So she doesnt soften up as much because the Ravagers are not the Guardians. She finds friends and a sorta family with them but she develops very differently than she did with Peter and the rest.

Gamora's ending made me SOB. Because it was HAPPY! She ended up with a family who loved her, just not the one we expected. Absolutely shattered me. What an ending for a film series that began when I was so much younger :')
@nairagar7338 Жыл бұрын
I saw that and realized that she already made family with the ravagers that accepted her, but Quill and the rest of gotg doesn't really see it or know, they just know she's part of the space pirates, it was very sad but this isn't the Gamora we know and love from the past and that's okay as Quill finally realized it at the end. And I get why it can be so frustrating on her end, she never experience what our Gamora went through with the gotg and Co, but it was nice that she acknowledges it at the end she realized that it might've been fun being with them, but she already has a family she made with the ravagers and she's content with that :,)

Love the symbolism of Rocket choosing Creep - a 90's song - at the start. Almost the new millenium but not quite: Rocket has grown significantly but his past/identity still haunts him. Then in the end he picks a 2000's song 'Dog Days are Over' which is proudly the antithesis of that. James Gunn is a soundtrack master. Top 3 MCU for me.

As soon as I saw Rocket's little band of friends, I knew what was coming. After all, he doesn't have them in the future. But seeing how he got there was one of the most powerful emotional experiences in the MCU. I don't know that I've ever hated a villain quite so much as the High Evolutionary, even though others have done objectively worse things. "There is no God! That's why I stepped in!" is one of the most succinct motivation statements that I've ever heard. It's chilling. If GotGV3 doesn't win some awards, or at least get nominated for them, there is no justice in this world.

It makes me remember a really serious concept I either read in a book or heard somewhere online, where the author/host asked the question ‘Are you an animal lover or in reality just a pet lover?’ In other words the author/host is proposing a very self-reflective question of do u love and are compassionate to all animals or do u show love and compassion only to those animals society sees as pets

Best Marvel movie ever and best film overall in a while. I don't think Nebula's growth is acknowledged enough. Was cold-hearted and literally robotic before and now she's like the group's older sister. Her dancing and smiling at the end is underrated (remember how she was dancing in the Holiday Special? Night and day). Saw an early screening where they also showed the first two films back-to-back before. 8 hours in a theatre, left at 2:30 AM, such a fun night. The Avengers were my favourite group, then the Agents of SHIELD took that place, and now the Guardians have it And side note: Did y'all watch that Guardians Inferno music video (from Guardians 2)? Somehow, I just discovered it only recently, after Guardians 3 already was out 😅 Best thing I didn't know I needed.

There is no doubt that High Evolutionary is one of the evil villains in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. As for me, this is a dark, frightening, and excellent film. Chukwudi Iwuji described High Evolutionary as "narcissistic, outrageous, but very charming. I can't think of a better character who uses his skills better to join the MCU. I like how this movie carries the weight of Gamora's death from Infinity War. Yes a Gamora is in the movie, but she has no connection to the Guardians outside of Nebula and doesn't have the same relationship with them as the one who died. At the end, she leaves them once again. It hammers home that the Gamora we knew really is gone and isn't coming back. Unlike how the MCU handled Loki and Vision. Loki was given a PowerPoint of the main Loki's life and Vision literally had all his memories restored. Gamora didn't have any of that bs

Before watching this, my favorite version of the Guardians was the recent PS4/PS5 version and story. But this movie is now my favorite, it had the same elements as the game, those darker elements and moving moments that hit me in the feels, tye heart muscle. James Gunn has this ability to put so much heart in relatively obscure even villainous characters that you don't see in movies with actual well-known superheroes even movies with the Avengers who felt more like co-workers than friends or family. I'm going to miss him in the MCU but I've enjoyed his material with the DCU so far. Seriously guys, you definitely should play the Guardians of the Galaxy game if you haven't yet, the characters aren't MCU Guardians but they're still a great version of those characters and world.

In the comics Phyla Vel is Quasar and is actually the girlfriend of Drax's daughter as well.

“Fuck this dude all the way to hell & back” at 25:35 was my EXACT reaction lol, Chukwudi did an amazing job at being a hated villain

When me and my sister saw this in theaters, I thought she was going to cry more than me, but it was the opposite. I cried from the ending on, bawling my eyes non-stop and even a few days after I watched it

Great movie & reaction Normies! The two near death scenes of Rocket & Quill were real tearjerkers 😢😢😢
