He talked about how there were a lot of kids or doll style proportions and styles like the babydoll dresses, the shrunken sweaters, the doll like shoes, it basically looked like kids who had gone into a different dimension where they aged into teenagers but were still in their children's or doll clothes that they originally had. And these kinds of babydoll styles on teenagers were also very popular during the 90s grunge movement so it was also a reference to that.
