I think he gets lost due to the Shadow of wasim. His peak before his back injury was like no other (89-94), he was easily 150+ with swing and toe crushers and majority of his outs were bowled or lbw, after injury his pace went down and he relied on swing and seam more

In 2009 at our Cricket academy in Kolkata Wasim sir once came for 3 days workshop . He explained how to Bowl reverse swing to the bowlers & also tell how to read the reverse swing. Trust me as a batsman picking up reverse swing is no joke, because you can't read it until the ball released from the bowler hand. You need to have very good reaction time. We asked also Wasim who is the best ever batsman who read his reverse swing maximum number of time ? We are expecting Sachin or Lara .. But very surprisingly he said it was Gilchrist and Ganguly who used to pick his reverse swing maximum number of times. Because both the batters have the quality to read the ball length very quickly.

Absolutely why PCB or other cricket boards utilizes Wasim or waqar experiences. Such valuable lessons he gave to pathan during 2003-04 India tour to Pakistan, and pathan knows both in and outswing sometimes reverse also. Must utilise theirs experience.

Pakistan has been great producing quality cricket players but problem is lack of structure. Players are exceptional individually but as a team there is a lot to improve specially in big games. Whenever they played against Australia in semifinal or final they almost lost every game. Same with India specially in World Cup. Cricketing sense and situation handling during critical moments should be the main focus for them if they want to win the WC.
