Imo the reason why they used CG is to mimic/imitate those idol anime music videos. That or give an uncanny feel to it because they're zombies. Either one works as a reason.

No, none of it works for any reason, the only reason I can see them using CG is because of short schedule or on budget. The Dance scene like this should be the meat of animation for animators to flex their skills, and after seeing how MAPPA can pull crazy mind-blowing 2D animation with AOT and JJK, they need to step up their animation game for Zombieland Saga season 2.

The "bad CG" is really that bad. Yes, it looks out of place, but so did the 4 frame birds the episode before! The CG is smoothly animated and looks nice! The reason it was probably used was to make use of the camera movement, which is easier to do with CG than standard 2D animation.

It gives an intentional uncanny valley feeling to it, which fits, since they are reanimated corpses. Compare the little kid’s dancing, which is properly 2D and doesn’t feel off.

Да нормальная здесь CG. Модельки персонажей сами по себе смотрятся хорошо. Если сделать их скриншот - всё выглядит отлично. Проблемы видятся лишь в движении и вот если говорить про анимацию, то вот тут уже да, она немного хромающая. Но, опять же, анимация смотрится куда лучше, чем я привык видеть в аниме. Персонажи выглядят определённо живее, чем в Berserk или в Knights of Sidonia. Я это говорю к тому, что японские студии делают маленькие успехи, и я считаю, что нужно проявить терпение и относиться к их работе чуточку спокойнее. Ибо в будущем всё японское CG может выглядеть так же круто, как в Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2 и Houseki no Kuni.

Enzo Matrix I've actually watched the show. Those 2 minutes apply to every episode. There are really only a bunch of times where (bad) CGI is used, and I think it adds to the whole comic situation. I don't really believe it's done intentionally bad, but the first time I saw this scene I lost it.
