I am obsessed with Guerlain’s consistent quality. They do not come out with gimmicky fragrances with “trending” note combinations. Rather always work with high quality ingredients and create simplistic blends that are elegant and timeless. I have bought many from the L’art & La Matiere collection. Now that I have one child in university and two others on deck. Unfortunately the finances won’t allow me to add the extraits to my collection. However I visited Holt Renfrew 6 separate times to allow myself the luxury of wearing each on skin. All of them exquisite! Well done Guerlain !

Hello my friend, thank you for the kind feedback. Yeah, in my small collection, many scents are from Guerlain and equally many are from Amouage. Guerlain is simply stunning and true to its core, launching high quality each time. Thierry Wasser is a very bright gentleman and Delphine is a talented passionate perfume which knows what to do. Razvan, I am glad that there are fragrance reviewers, like you, who appreciate Guerlain fragrances. I am going to NYC in the next week or 2 and I am going to try all 6 fragrances from the L'Art & La Matière Les Extraits line. I am most excited to try Bergamote Fantastico & Tonka Sarrapia. Iris Pallida and Vanille Planifolia took my breath away! I tested both in person and the vanilla lasted for hours. Stunning performance. I could only purchase one at the time and chose Vanilla. Iris is next for me. Bergamont is stunning. Such a beautiful collection. I wouldn’t expect any less from Guerlain.

The Iris Extrait is one of the biggest “gotcha” scents I’ve tried. Beautiful opening that quickly dries down to a bland almond hand lotion musk. So cheap and boring smelling. At this price point I want more than a single ingredient boosted by musks, I want a full composition! Guerlain wins the prize for cynical cash grab of the year.

That´s a very good question ! And the answer would be "yes" ! If you look at the lower end, the L´Homme Ideal, Acqua Allegoria, etc .. are easily accessible so "designer" in form an cost. But if you look at the "L´Art de la Matiere" by the price and availability, they are into "niche" category. What do you think?

Sorry, but you are very biased. I find this collection the worst from Guerlain, little creativity and absolutely not worth the price for some soliflores. Most people will benefit more from just buying a natural flower absolute than most of these. I am a Guerlain fan, but these are a joke on customers.
