A young widow, my grandmother came to the US from Guernsey in 1920 to be with some family that had already come across. She returned once in 1962....this is what she must've have seen. I heard so many wonderful stories of this place as a child. I think she missed it very much, she always referred to it as "home".

Happy times. Staying with my grans best friend up hautville swimming and walking good bus service then.every morning down to the states dairy for a milk shake 2 ladies in white smocks. Then over to herm to swim at shell beach.and condor queen over to st malo those were the days

The channel islands are all beautiful remember the TV serie bergerac that was filmed in Jersey 🇯🇪 and Elizabeth Beresford the creator of the wombles lived in alderney so did cricket 🏏 player Ian Botham and Jullie Andrews lived a while on alderney to
