When I lived in a Guernsey in the Fifties I worked at the States Electricity which was in High Street. A nostalgic video for me. Thank you. Josephine Pike, New Zealand

Woolworths used to be where the first M&S is now, right at the bottom corner of the High Street.

Thank you for this, delighted to see Guernsey again , we had many holidays there in the 80's & 90's. Fantastic beaches. Could I ask if the Fruit Export store is still there ? It was between St. Sampson & St. Peter port on the main road. What about the go kart track used to spend along time whizzing round there !! I think the strawberry farm & Le Frequet butterfly farm that was has now gone as I suspect have many other attractions that we used to visit . Thanks again.

Hi, fruit export went a long time ago, I remember it well. The go cart track is still going. Yes, strawberry farm is gone a long time ago so has the zoo.

Is Bucktrout gone? There was also Bakers sports in Le pollet and Machon 's was double fronted. Can you remember dip and dine at the Royal, and live bands at the Savoy?

I've been hoping to see Bucktrouts. My dad worked there from 1936-39. He took me there when on holiday in 1953

Elizabeth Avenue. According to Google Maps I don't think you can see it roadside. It's not where it was 70 years ago lol@@livinginguernsey

Taxis are hard to come by in Guernsey. Pays to book well in advance, in my experience

You might do something on the Corbin family home on Rue Lihou, which was a German HQ in ww2. It has been in the family since 1450 and my cousin lives there. Another cousin runs the world class German Occupation Museum. Say Richard Sent you..

Lovely tour of ‘town’! Accessorize and Guernsey Pearl are new to me as well as First Contact Health. Good to see Beghin’s back although in a different location. Enjoy your weekend! 💫

Hello Sir, I just subscribed to your channel. I congratulate you for the quality of your work. We are based in La Rochelle (France). Would you like to build, with us, exchanges, of all kinds, between Guernsey and us, without necessarily going through the other island? The Ponant Islands Association can help us. Via his secretary-general, who lives not far from us. Best regards, Alain Brosse

I was fairly well shielded with houses all around me. My windows still got a hell of a battering, though.
