I always like estate auctions like these with a very well organized inventory instead of lots of mishmash on or under the tables. Nonetheless a little bit of everything for every wallet. Big score on the Pictorial Family Bible with lots of colorful chromolithographs in it. The cover needs a little bit of restoration work, but it´s worth it, because this type of Holy Bible was definitely a high end item around 1900. Keep it up, Renée, and enjoy the forthcoming sunny Labor Day weekend ! 🌤 Greets from GER, U.

I think most Bibles I come across need some work done on the cover, add that to my list of things to learn! It was probably a good thing that I didn't look through the photograph boxes more, as I didn't see all that I couldn't have haha. I'd rather know beforehand that the items weren't for sale rathr than wait the whole auction with baited breath on whether or not I'd be the winning bidder, only to have them pulled last minute. (A part of me does wish I would have inquired with the family what they were going to do with the boxes, as usually the "important" items are removed long before the auction takes place.)

Hello Renee. A wonderful smorgasbord of items to be had . I’m glad you got the family’s bible, it is lovely. And all the little details inside to look up and see what the floods were like. And find out about the family. Those pictures were very nice from what we seen . But I’m glad the family kept them. I hope you have a wonderful weekend and enjoy any and all festival or events in your area. 🕵🏼♀️🕵🏼♀️🕵🏼♀️🕵🏼♀️🕵🏼♀️🕵🏼♀️☕️🫖☕️🫖☕️🫖🥰🥰💯💯💯💯💯💯💯

I was glad I found out before the auction started that the photographs weren't for sale. I would have felt really bad bidding, winning, and then being told after that they were sold by mistake. Hope that you have a wonderful weekend!

Looked like a good take - I have no idea what those items would sell for but I'm sure you've done your research. Must have been a big house with that rambling basement. Those primitive toolboxes sell well around here; I guess people use them for display? Often they smell like oil. Not a bad smell, but not what you want in your dining room. I wonder if those "Yellow" trucking line hats will increase in value now that Yellow has filed bankruptcy? Fun estate sale; thanks for sharing. Beautiful weather here this weekend with a break in the heat. No promising sales, but a chance to work on some things I've acquired so I can sell them. Have a great Friday afternoon and Labor Day weekend!.

The older toolboxes did sell for a decent amount of money. As you said, many use them for display and decor - a whole forest of bottle brush trees would look great in them! Sales have slowed down here as well. Auctions from my usual auctioneers have come to a halt, whereas during the summer there was an auction ever Saturday! I'm going to venture out to a thrift store or two this upcoming week, get back to trying out the "thrifting" thing to see what is out there. A family party this weekend, flea market (but no Tote Man, ahhh!), and then getting more work done. Hard to believe it is September already! Hope you have a wonderful weekend as well!

Renee .... You look so tired.😴 Have you been burning the candle at both ends?🧨 Please look after yourself . I love estate sale vlogs- as I'm so nosy and I love peeking at people's lifestyle things and your narration is hilarious sometimes. Sending Autumny thoughts - it's g'win cold here in the UK 🇬🇧 and evri1 is prepping for Halloween 🎃. Loved the cowboy bunny made me say "I need that" which of course is your latest slogan ! That sink was fab as was the drawer so retro. Lovely Bible. Take Care . Love Janice 👵 🇬🇧 xxx

Nothing like a "Happy Hunter"! need drawers too...mine are getting too big...as I diet!! Another sick comment...LOL! Those poles bring back many fond memories of fishing with dad, years ago! That one Jack-o-lantern which was on the trunk, looks like he means business! I now know, you'd love my 1949 Youngstown double kitchen sink/cabinet...you are right on...looks great and easy/functional to use. Quite interesting Holiday stuff in that auction. That old, large Bible looks like the one our Masonic Lodge has on the alter.

You have that type of sink?? I’m envious! So practical, no need to buy a separate dish drying rack, it’s built in! Any plans for the weekend? Neighbors having any picnics or get-togethers?
@larryboysen5911 Жыл бұрын
@@PaperandMooseA few years back, a couple of casual friends were commenting on the Youngstown sink..."Oh, you need to upgrade your dated kitchen"...NO WAY...that's what I love about it, as I have so many fine memories if mom preparing meals and us enjoying them around the table, as well as watching TV...remember the TV trays?? we had them...but no Swanson TV Dinners...wonderful home cooked meals were the norm! Yesterday...9/2 had lunch with two good friends at our favorite place...today 9/3 washing, dusting and vacuuming. Labor day, a quiet day at home...with the fr-gs! The way this city is going...there will be no places to thrift...another long independent store has called quits as of 8/31! The rate time is zipping by...the Halloween Decor will be coming to my dining room table! Picnics?? none in the future!

I used to have fun buying jewelry boxes and searching for treasure, struck it lucky a few times. Late to an estate sale once because a friend told me they had some old fancy shoe clips, not only did I get the shoe clips but an entire left over table of lady accessories and an old letter about travelling by train during the war (having to sit on your suitcase), which I gave to our local town historian. The majority of the accessories I ended up giving to our town's little theatre for costumes.

Hey Renee. This was an interesting Auction. Why did they keep the picture? But the Bible was so amazing. Is it vintage or not? And really beautiful condition. God Bless this wonderful Auction day. Take care Mari'a. 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍👍👍💙💙💙💜💜💜🌈🌈🌈
@PaperandMoose Жыл бұрын
The Bible is older. Not sure why they didn't keep the Bible too, since that had family information written in it. They kept all the photographs most likely because they were their ancestors and older family photographs. Hope they just remember they are in the closet before they move out of the house!
