For me, my BPD is debilitating (self harm, eating disorders, depression, suicidal, Panic attacks, the list goes on). I know there are some people with BPD symptoms who can function “normally”, but for me and some others out there it is so severe that I could never see myself working or anything as I spend most days inside simply trying to cope with how depressed and anxious I am all day.

I think as long as people are genuinely trying to help understand how to help you then it’s up to the person being asked to be equally as helpful. If people are actively trying to be offensive ‘are you fucking blind?’ then yes their being a dick. But if someone asks ‘what can you see?’ Then they are actually trying to learn about you and how much assistance you may need. Obviously those are related to blindness and sight loss but one of those is not offensive. Also if someone is asking a question and is completely unaware that it was offensive it’s up to you to explain in a calm way why you don’t feel comfortable answering

My aunt also has endometriosis and it's been very hard for her and her husband to conceive. Theyve been going through IVF because from what I understand its difficult for the egg to implant and stay in her uterus? I'm not exactly sure. Endometriosis also causes longer, more painful periods for some women too ://

She will. I'm currently pregnant and have endometriosis. I'm due in 2 weeks. Where there is a will there is a way. Then again I'm 20. It becomes harder when you're around 30+ almost how it is for many other women without the disorder. But yeah its absolutely possible

@@sev9642 we have super bad abandonment issues, even if there's not a real threat of someone leaving and it's just perceived it's a whole ass meltdown. For me it's like the emotional capacity of a toddler. A lottt of self hate and insecurity, so we tend to build and destroy new "personalities" to keep people around or after people leave us. Relationships with people are often unstable, we might cut everyone off and isolate ourselves in a meltdown or for other reasons. Also very impulsive (many use or abuse drugs, self harm, or sex), and sometimes we can be a little manipulative tbh (not everyone and it's not really inherent nor do most of us mean to). And like she said with black and white thinking, we can idolize someone and then suddenly think they're not as great (maybe to protect us from being hurt when we feel we're being abandoned, or sometimes it's just spontaneous) and it can be for the dumbest reasons in retrospect. We probably wont have consistent or even our own opinion on things depending on who is around. And I've noticed most borderlines will latch their entire emotional security on one or a few people, so if that person is happy we are, if they're sad we might be sad or blame ourselves, if they start acting differently it might be meltdown central. There's probably some others but those are the ones that affect me and that I've seen others talk about most.

Same! My parents (before I got diagnosed) would get frustrated with me because I was such a whirlwind of emotions. It’s frustrating at work, too, because no one really gets it or even knows what I’m going through and think I’m just psychotic or something.

Even having anxiety (as I do), it's still sometimes really hard to imagine what life is like for people with disabilities. People tend to act like disabled people are overdramatic or pathetic or something but no, people are really just living their lives n dealing with this shit daily. Like I'd love it if everyone was able to be as open and communicative as everyone in this video, especially neurotypical/able bodied people who might not 100% understand stuff all the time.
