Guess the Movie from one Frame - the "popular movies" edition #3 - movies from the last 50 years!

Welcome back for another installment of our newest series of Frame Challenges - for this series, I went through the last 50 years of movies and pulled out the most popular of the bunch. We're talking about the titles that were on the Top 20 box-office charts of each year.
Of course, I did have to pepper it a little bit with films that weren't top-20 hits but are still monumentally well known. You'd be surprised how many extremely popular movies didn't find their audiences until they ended their theatrical run. I was very careful in making sure I selected titles that have earned the right to be amongst the popular kids (I mean, The Shawshank Redemption is one of the most beloved films of all time, and for the year it was released, it came in at #95. NUMBER 95. It was outgrossed by a Pauly Shore movie. In fact, even when you add in the extra money Shawshank made the following year, it STILL got outgrossed by a Pauly Shore movie. What I'm trying to say here is that I had to make a few editorial choices and I hope they're reasonable).
So the game is pretty straightforward - I show you a frame, you have around eight seconds before the title is revealed. You know the drill. I'm sure you'll know most of these, right?
Now, if you're looking for some more obscure stuff, do check out the ongoing series of 1990s films I'm doing. The only rule I had for that one is "if I heard of it during the 90s, it's fair game." But I worked in a movie theater for the majority of the 1990s, and I was very plugged in on what was coming out so some of them get pretty out there!

Nice one. Almost all fell into the "seen" or "should have seen" categories, and the rest I've at least heard of. Which makes 24/40 pretty bad, I guess!

getting better 12, and missed a few movies that were in a series, M.I, Harry Potter, and Star trek. oh and mucked up tron as well. At least I got the right bond, although Jaws made that easy. At least I had heard of most of these movies.

The 2, I missed were because I never saw the films that the frames were from. "TNMT", and "50 shades of grey"

I feel your pain. For a few of these, I've had to study Wikipedia pages and IMDB cast lists to figure out what makes something in one of them distinct from the others. I actually threw out "Bourne Ultimatum" because I could not come up with anything that made it unique from the others in the series. That's not saying it's a bad film or anything - just that it lacked a distinct moment or character that popped...

Are you joking? All these movies are extremely well known. I got 6 wrong, and I’d heard of every one I got wrong. So to answer your question, this was made for people who don’t live under a rock probably?

@@samb8744 It depends on what country you live in perhaps. I don’t think all of them came to cinema in my country. Like with music there are some things that are just popular within the country and some things that is more popular for the broader mass. Different cultural experiences actually. It’s not that strange
