The green leafy vegetable on your plate is from a tropical fern plant.
@wintersojourn93563 ай бұрын
One of my favorite veggies is fiddlehead fern, here in USA. I saw a documentary about an area of Phil. & they noted that a particular fern was a major draw to their restaurants as a part of their local cuisine & a major export, also. It was a region of Luzon but I can’t recall the region’s name nor the name of the fern. It looked different when plated than the salad shown here by Michael; it was a darker green leaf if I recall correctly. I think they reported it has to be harvested carefully as a similar appearing fern is poisonous

Hi Mike. I want to thank you for this video because you opened our mind to moving to Kalibo. My gf is from Akalan and went to college in Kalibo so she knows the place well. We now live in San Joaquin way up on top the mountain and I just don't like it here. Now I am going crazy finding videos on Kalibo and we have 95% decided to move to Kalibo. We have reservations first week of January to spend 5 days there at a Air BnB just to look for a place to live. We have 2 teenage girls in school so we must wait until the end of the school year before making the move completely. Thanks again. Hope we can visit The Beaver sometime in 2025. We are active scuba divers so we might want to try diving at some of your neigboring divespots.

Thanks for the info🙂. I thought it might be similar to shellfish. Thank goodness she declined with her shellfish allergies. Hope in future she considers keeping an epinephrine pen handy./ But I disagree re: hat removal while dining, for women. Men are required to do so, , but in Western etiquette, women are not required to remove hat while dining, indoors or during an invocation prayer) usually hat is considered integral to women’s outfit- but possibly courteous for her to remove if viewing a performance or sport while eating, so as to not obstruct view of those behind).

I always asked why I am living in a so expensive country. Then I heard many foreigners complaining Philippines is becoming expensive. I heard Mike said when he was in this high end restaurant Mauro that the most expensive dish around 700 pesos. Mike in Seychelles a high end restaurant maybe a glass of wine that price, not even a starter you will not get at that price here. I been to Singapore it is very expensive, but modern value for money etc, but Seychelles is expensive, but nothing Special about quality amenities, infrastructure, services but it is all about natural beauty of the Island. People pay to see the beauty of the island, 4 times more tourists visit here than it's own population.The Philippines even it is not at the standard of Thailand and Vietnam on amenities, infrastructure etc, but no one will make me change this country for any South Easian country apart from my own Seychelles. The Philippines has something that my country has, natural beauty, characters, hospitable people, rich diverse culture, a history that dated thousands of years. This country is magical, but if you from a western society with these western mentality I do not think one could settle there.

I’m only 34 minutes in but plz don’t pressure Catherine even in jest. 😆No but seriously🙊🚫⛔️ I know it isn’t in shellfish family but she already had an allergic reaction, & I don’t think y’all even have tablet antihistamines with you let alone an epipen. Miss Catherine should always have multiple epi pens (handbag, CB, vehicles, home) kept up to date coz y’all live in RC the seafood capitol & there will always be risk of cross contamination in restaurants in the Philippines (an archipelagic nation!) Her reaction may be mild today but allergies are cumulative in severity so future reactions will usually be worse. Her inhalers wont address shellfish allergies adequately. Ok Marites (but true) rant completed. // what a gorgeous mangrove trek! I esp admire the tourist official walking in heels, not high but still pretty heels! Luvd their linen blue shift attire, too/. That parasol of lace was so lovely. Catherine deserves one, yes, the gift shop must sell replicas tho not as intricate. It is a practical gift! Good for beach stroll sun protection.
