All of your insights and feelings here about charity shops and supporting the purchase of second hand items are wonderful. I work at a charity shop. There are even more positive impacts in the facts that buying used items helps keep them out of trash circulation and landfills. It saves resources. Also, many older items were produced with better quality than current manufacturing standards, like electronics, clothing, furniture etc. Thank you for sharing your feelings here. Keep supporting the charity shops and helping so many people!

When my wife first came to the UK, i took her to a charity shop and she like you loved it and the idea of it but said that in China it wouldn't work because a lot of Chinese do like or think you get bad luck wearing or using second hand stuff.

Yes , Your wife is right , some people do think this way . and some people they just like new things . We bought second hand cars in China , even some of my friends or relatives wonder or doubt why .
