@soulsaver3459 Жыл бұрын
@@0077725 depends on the area and ethnicity. For example I’m Ukrainian and ain’t no way my parents would let me date an African American and usually Ukrainians date Ukrainians or Russians and same with Russians dating Ukrainians due to similar cultures. Same with Jewish people they usually date only other Jewish people. I also think it’s in part of your surroundings and diversity exposure. For example I have a friend who’s half African American and half Russian and speaks fluent English and Russian. So it’s not that it doesn’t happen, but it really just depends. I feel like it’s more common to mix ethnically in America as how diverse the people who live there are. Where I grew up and am now Hispanics and African Americans are predominantly here so I picked up on a lot of slang, but personally I’d prefer someone of a similar ethnicity for the similar culture and language.

i’m in an interracial relationship and i think one of the most frustrating things is the looks we get from strangers! like cmon now people! other than that i love it here
@OisinMcCool Жыл бұрын
I was in a three year relationship with a black woman. The worst responses/looks we ever got were from black men. The two times that stuck out to me were: leaving the mall once and there was a large crowd of high-school to college age black guys, she pushed me away to avoid attention (either at her, or physical towards me) but we still got glared down. And another time riding an elevator in Las Vegas, an older black couple got in and the husband stared us (me, mainly) down for about 12 floors. As to the whole "I need to have conversations about race all time", that people mention often on here. Race came up in maybe a dozen specific racialized instances (what's a weave, getting lotion for her and skin tan oil for me, when the police pulled us over, etc)....99.9% of our relationship, it never needed discussion. My brother's wife, on the other hand, is also black and will start a conversation about race at the drop of a hat; to the point it's uncomfortable for other's in the family (an example when another sister's 7yr old shy son danced: "haha, he dances just like a little white boy"; that's the last time we saw him dance that night).

@Daruki Neo she is expressing that she might not be correct about something (in this case, racial stereotypes); thus she is rightfully unsettled by the task she is asked to perform. Not to mention she also only missed one of them, so like yeah the amount of concern she has about herself is a bit excessive, but that could mean a wide variety of things and almost certainly comes from a good place. Also, inferiority complex / low-self esteem is almost always linked to a mental illness of some sort (social anxiety disorder, AVPD or the lesser form known informally as RSD, most forms of depression, NPD or sociopathy, and even disorders that arose from childhood experiences;) not only did she not express anything about herself that could reliably infer such an assumption that you had made, you had _also_ made, well, an assumption that could have multiple implications (all of which require professional help.) Now lets say she _does_ have an inferiority complex; why, in any possible way, would it be appropriate to make a belittling assumption about someone who constantly disparages themselves? Not to mention that I could incorrectly assume that you are a narcissist because "she said everything needed to know her. she has inferiority complex and that's it." is formatted in way that makes you, the writer, appear as an all knowing smartass who thinks they are superior to those who feel or seem inferior. Would I be wrong? Almost certainly. Just like how you would be _almost certainly_ *wrong* to assume something about someone who you have never met, who you've only seen talking for like 150 - 180 seconds, and who has not given any reasoning to support your assumption. funniest thing about this? the original commenter, Angie, is right. She shouldn't be worried... but then yall distort that and make juvenile statements like "...she as (is) giving me performative vibes." or "She seemed to just speak low of white people..." like the former is unnecessary and doesn't relate to what the original comment was saying, and the latter is just wrong; white people are societally built with privilege and are usually instilled with a sense of security and superiority, so like?? who cares if she was "speaking low" of white people?? and besides that, the latter also, again, not only doesn't relate to what the original comment was saying, it contradicts it.

Instead of trying to ignore cultures and see this thing as "stereotypical white/nonwhite" look at this thing as just being happy and respectful towards others' cultures. the blonde girl is just the classic overcompensating white bitch that thinks she brings justice to all the world's wrong
