blessing is a first gen african through and through, you know his parents have thick accents but value "white" careers and aesthetic bc they think thats where the money and "blessings" reside. and usually as u grow up, u get in tune with your african american friends and learn from all 3 cultures

I already said my piece about Blessing by replying to someone else, but aside from "JUNETEENTH" dude...... this was an okay episode/video. I will say that I've been noticing (some) people in the chat kind of having a groupthink mindset to them for a while now, and maybe I'm wrong :-0, but it's giving "I don't have opinions of my own". Unless that's how they really feel, fine!! From my end, Blessing wasn't being TOO weird. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Not entirely anyway. His country neighbors mine (Cameroon) and I'd say his accent was accurate or close to. Leesie was cool, friendly & cute!! I liked her hair.

That was simply my perception of things based on this video and the past ones I've watched of hers. :-) That's fair, maybe he (still) has some internal issues about it, because whatever problem it is, at some point you've got to stop bringing it up and just heal to live your life. Hell, Leesie was ADOPTED by them and she only brought up the "I talk white thing" ONCE. She also wanted to find who were the black women like her in the show, but that was it. All in all, we can't entirely be certain his actions/antics were for white validation, but I'm not crossing out the possibility either.

Okay hear me out, I’m a first gen Sierra Leonean/ Liberian. I was born in Baltimore left when I was 11, moved to Rogers, Minnesota & then Akron, Ohio at the same age and thennn Tallmadge, Ohio @ 13. When I turned 19 I moved Minneapolis for 2 years & now I’m back in Ohio lmaooo. I do the accent thing too and it sounds very forced since I’ve been watered down hella but I say this to say I can kick with any cultural background and vibe very well. A lot of first gen Africans have extremely wide spectrums when it comes to ppl so I’m not suprised he got majority of them correct.

With the talking "white" thing, it's not just being able to speak proper english, but also slang terms and slight accents from a given area. Most of the time, people have terms they use from their hood or area even with speaking properly.
