When Burton was very young a teacher told his mom he should take piano lessons because she recognized his talent. The piano teacher asked Burton to learn a piece of music for the following week. He learned it, after transcribing into a different key! He told the teacher he preferred the new key! She never taught him transcription!

I will tell you how we met the WOLFMAN!!!!! In 1977 the City of Portland had the distinction of having the WOLFMAN and the Guess Who play in concert at the Cumberland County Civic Center. The concert was an instant SELLOUT!! My mother, and my aunt Rose were ER Nurses at the Maine Medical Center. My twin sister Eva was a Police Dispatcher with the Portland Police Department, My girlfriend Debbie and me were EMT/Paramedics with the City of Portland Medical Crisis Unit. When I was told about the concert I started to CRY!!! This man was one of my childhood heroes!!! Now I get to meet the WOLFMAN in PERSON!!!! My sisters and I had seen the WOLFMAN at Radio City Music Hall in 1974!!!! The night of the concert the WOLFMAN received an escort from the Portland Jetport!!!! Half the City of Portland was in attendence for the concert!!! The Civic Center was filled to capacity!! Everyone was ELATED to see the concert!!!! The Mayor of Portland and other dignitaries were there as well!!! When the concert started the guess who played a lot of AWESOME songs and everyone was going CRAZY!!! When this song started, I couldn't hold back my LOVE and energy anymore!!! I took my sister Eva and began dancing in the aisle!!! then my family joined IN!!!! Everyone knew us and started SCREAMING and CHEERING!!!! I had TEARS in my EYES!!! Here I am looking at one of my childhood heroes on stage!!!! The Wofman STARED at me & my family and gave us a STRONG two thumbs up!!! The Energy in the Civic Center was TRAUMATIZING!!!! After the Concert my family and me were escorted backstage and met with the WOLFMAN!!!! I NEVER MET a MORE FANTASTIC PERSON in my LIFE!!!! We had pictures taken with the WOLFMAN He Looked at my girlfriend Debbie and went CRAZY over Debbie's beauty!!!! The Mayor then hugged and kissed us because of our dancing in the aisle. He asked whose idea was it to dance!!! Everyone pointed to me!!!!! The Mayor said, " No wonder there was a WAVE of ENERGY in the Building"!!!! I will ALWAYS REMEMBER this concert until the DAY I die!!!!! WHAT a DREAM COME TRUE!!!!!
