I was in the audience for the "Live at the Paramount" recordings in the Seattle Paramount theatre back in 1972. That was a fabulous concert. Timothy B. Schmidt's voice adds those sweet high parts that veteran vocalists often have to give up simply due to the ravages of time. And it would have been equally good here had there been a pro soundboard mixer. But the ass significantly dialed back the harmony mics while keeping Burton's too hot, thus that kind of baritone sound dominating which should have been the full spectrum harmonies. You hear them vaguely in the background, But do you hear Todd rundgren? No. You shouldn't judge the harmonies here based on the shitty soundboard mix, they were all dialed way too down.

Not just one of the absolute greatest rock songs ever written and one of the best guitar riffs ever created but performed by what was indeed an absolute All Star band. The collection of talent on that stage and their connections and contributions to the history of rock n roll is amazing.

This was the year I ran into Ringo in lake Buena vista near Disney at the sun trust bank when I was a gardener for Disney. I saw an amazing Porsche come in the parking lot so I got off my mower watched too see what kind of person gets out. As he got closer I realized it was him or a lookalike and we had a nice conversation which ended with him giving me a ride across the street to Disney market place where I went to the employee cafeteria for lunch. What memories I have of Disney and all the people I met!

If video killed the radio star, computer technology killed the live music star. Guitar has all but disappeared from popular music today as has drums and pretty much every other live instrument because all you need is a microphone and a computer. It's sad. THIS right here is an all-star supergroup rocking the house and so much of today's music lacks that energy that live musicians and simple song structures bring. I thank God I grew up in the 70's and got to experience this generation of musicians both as a young child (who started playing drums at age 3 and experience it from the stage!) and a half-century old man who has You Tube (the better side of technology) to now see all of these amazing live performances that I could never have seen back then. Burton Cummings is a rock vocal God IMO and that entire band was incredible. I never ever get tired of watching this performance, even if Zack Starkey did get just a little overanxious when he counted off the song LOL.

I saw them back in the days,& Im well acquainted with the original..and thats what makes this one so fun. Theyre like hornets nest of guitar flurry--then they step up and sing almost like Poco --in a nice country feeling--- then back to this whirrr of guitars. hahahaha Ringo add this great beat to it all..diff than the original. Makes it really fun to watch them changing gears so fast.

Renee Cashwell The original version was on Canned Wheat and had a solo in the middle and another at the end. The remake was a few months later on the American Woman album and was the hit single with the verses switched. Both versions sound identical overall.

Mickey Thomas of Elvin Bishop Band, Jefferson Starahip/Starship, "Fooled Around And Fell In Love", "Find Your Way Back" "Sara", "Nothing Gonna Stop Us Now" Freddie Mercury Of Queen, Brad Delp of Boston, Meat Loaf back in the Day, Steve Perry Of Journey. Those are my top five. Tom Jones has a great voice. I love his version of "You Can Leave Your Hat On" that I like. He also sang a duet w/ Janis on tv that you can find here on YT. Jay Black of Jay and The Americans, "Cara Mia". Gene Pitney did a very good "Cara Mia" as well. Really showed off his powerful ranger. It was forceful and a little operatic. Gay Pucket of Gary Pucket and The Union Gap, "Lady Willpower", "Young Girl. Alan Clarke sing lead on "Air That I Breath" by The Hollies. A little Elvis maybe, "Burning Love", or "Its Now Or Never" or some Michael on "Never Can Say Goodbye". BJ Thomas has a great voice on "I'm so lonesome", I could cry. The blond lead singer of Three Dog Night on the cover of Otis Redding's "Try A Little Tenderness" here on YT. The lead singer of the band Survivor on songs like "Burning Heart". The singer on the song "Making Love Out Of Nothing At All" by Air Supply. Some Richard Marx on "It Don't Mean Nothing", nothing at all, w/ that trill on the end of all. Brian and Carl Wilson of the Beach Boys. Or we can go full tilt boogie w/ Joe Cocker. ECT... Too much??? Okay I stop now. Good day.
