In Fate, the Assassin Jack the Ripper may be the actual Jack the Ripper, while the Berserker version is definitely not. The Berserker version is the embodiment of Jack's legend and the fear he caused, but not an actual person. The Assassin version is an actual collection of ghosts and spirits that formed a curse/grudge that went about murdering women in Fate's version of London, and (at least within Fate) may have been the actual Jack the Ripper. But no one knows, not even Jack (her memory's always vague on specifics). I think this makes Assassin a bit more interesting, as it means Fate's Jack may not have been a human, but instead was a magical phenomenon created naturally by the environment.

I think both Assassin and Berserker can coexist (in a sense, with major caveats on Berserker's part) as true Jack the Rippers. You've explained Assassin's side well enough as Jack the "Mutilator", but Berserker can have equal claim (at least, his alive self and not the Kojirou-esque ghost liner) as Jack the "Author". Remember, Jack didn't just murder people, he wrote letters. Berserker in-life could've been the troll who took advantage of the murders to write some ominous letters and perpetuate the mystery further. The Throne of Heroes then recorded the idea of Jack the "Author" as a servant much like it did with Kojirou or other wraith-servants. I think the greatest evidence in-text are the names of his Noble Phantasms, which do indeed take inspiration from the real Jack's letters.

Also, a bonus fact about the Vlads in Fate series. Lancer of Black Vlad is the representation of the "Hero that protected Wallachia from the Ottoman Empire". Fate/Extra Vlad is the representation of the "Religious zealous monster due to his devotion for God". That's why Lancer of Black Vlad have a skill called "Demonic Defender of the State" due to his feats in defending Wallachia while Fate/Extra Vlad have the skill "Protection of the Faith" due to him being very religious.

there's actually historical precedent for Buddha being a Final Boss. in the Journey to the West, after Sun Wukong rampages across all of reality and defeats the combined armies of heaven and hell, and they're all out of options after he took on literally all the most powerful gods and demons at once, they use their last resort. They call upon The Buddha Himself, who tricks sun wukong with possibly the coolest bet of all time. Basically, the Buddha says, "Hey, Sun Wukong, let's play a game: If you can jump out of the palm of my hand, you can keep kicking everyone's asses, but if you can't, I'm going to imprison you under a mountain until someone comes along who can teach you some manners." And Sun Wukong, who has never backed down from any challenge ever, says, "bring it on", balances on the Buddha's open palm, and jumps off so far that he lands at the literal edge of the universe, where he finds the five pillars that hold up the heavens. He pees on them, because he's a monkey and he has no respect for anything. The general rule that’s been followed (outside of gag and holiday events) depends on what the person in question is capable of doing, like you said with Arthur, she can be a saber because of Excalibur or a lancer Rhongomyniad. Outside of public perception is also periods in their life, Gilgamesh being the great example, The one that everybody knows is when he starts out in the story, kid Gil is obviously before that, Castor Gill, however, is at the end of the story, all kinds of interesting ideas that leave the door open to expand upon an older character that didn’t get much attention The reason why sabers generally tend to have the riding trait is because most sword wielders in story or history tend to be on horseback most of the time

It's got the durability of a Dragon, the destructive power of a Anti Army class Noble Phantasm so it can destroy huge chunks of the city if Medusa wanted to use it that way and is faster then most Rider mounts do to it effectively becoming a explosive streak of light. It's not as fast as actual light however. Honestly if you look at Medusa's full Ability set she's one of the most powerful Servants in that Fuyuki grail war.

She doesn't need a top tier magus to use her eyes which you literally can negate. The best you can do is avoid getting turned to stone. Yes she does need a solid mage to not get nurfed stat wise but so does every Servant.

Nobunaga is an archer and is actually quite goofy most of the time, but due to the time she was summoned and seeing how Japan was doing in WWII the incompetence of the Japanese army and their tactics, she is extremely angry in Fate Redline. Apollo and other gods/goddesses are summoned in weird ways because they can't be summoned under normal circumstances (and because FGO needs excuses for them to be in the game). Apollo is also the reason why Paris is summoned as a child because he's a creep who thinks that was when Paris 'shined the brightest'. When Drake first showed up in Extra it was going off a real (and admittedly quite stupid) theory that Elizabeth I swapped places with Francis Drake and hinted that this was actually Elizabeth. FGO did away with all that and just said, nah Drake is just a lady with massive boobs. Blackbeard actually has one of his best showings in a summer event of all things (which is pretty sad) where he's laughing along with one of his crewmates who's trying to convince him to betray the mc and he shoots him down. Edison is a fusion between the 'heroic spirit Edison' and strengthened with the power of every US president and summoned as the MGM lion. Even in the story, it makes no fucking sense but I still love him. The bodysuit for both Scathach and Cu are a reference to the body paint that was supposedly worn by Celtic warriors. Emiya Alter does have a different backstory to normal Emiya that is far darker and I think the explanation for his skin tone is that his magical circuits are literally being burned away (which can definitely be interpreted as racist) due to how much he's been deployed as a counter guardian. Another side effect is that he has terrible memory, to the point where he has to write down his daily interactions so he won't forget his master. Aliens have also been a part of the Nasuverse since its inception in Notes and FGO has started to add onto that lore and make it way more well knon.

About Medusa having a Pegasis. It was explained in Fate/Hollow Ataraxia that she was gifted it at some point by Poseidon or something. And her Mystic eyes are so strong that they DEFINITELY could petrify people to the point actually turning people to stone at full power, but it would probably work on anyone if she didn't have that blindfold. It is supposed to hide her identity secret AND keep her eyes from petrifiying people that aren't her targets. In Heaven's Feel, the glasses she wears suppresses her Mystic eyes and she does have the ability to suppress them if she cuts off her magical energy, but unless she's skilled or powerful enough, she could cut off her eyesight temporarily in the process.

Someone else generally said this but yeah, a servant's class is determined by what they did or are capable of in their myths. For instance, if someone was a lance fighter in history, they will qualify as a lancer class servant, but if their legend says they were also proficient in archery and was known to use magic occasionally, they'd be qualified for the archer, lancer, and caster classes. However, since they aren't known as well for their magic, caster would be the weakest of their available classes. For example Cú Chulainn in FGO is summonable as a lancer, but since Scáthach taught him runic magic he is also summonable as a caster, however being weaker than his lancer self, he even says," next time summon me as a lancer, will ya?" A perfect example of this is Heracles who qualifies for every class except Caster because he trained in everytghing but magic in his life. All servants can technically become berserkers, as being a berserker doesn't have anything to do with their lore in the original timeline but would be a calculated trade off of sanity/control for power by the mage as seen when Zouken Matou tells Kariya that he will add lines to the summoning incantation to make up for his lack of talent as a mage. That is why Lancelot is a berserker. That said, in FGO berserkers are typically berserkers because of their lore, i.e: Frankenstein. Additionally, Fate GO being a gacha game has added alternate versions of pre existing units in new classes based on whats happened in the story or the current event. Cu again is a good example of such as he can also be summoned as a berserker because of a wish made by Queen Medb in the America chapter, however his sanity is still intact. Edit : it is explained in FGO in her servant profile that her entire crew simply chose to refer to and record Francis Drake as a man bc thwy thought she was too manly to be thought of otherwise Edit 2: fun fact, Xiang Yu was also turned into a giant horse robot. There is a SINGLE female to male genderbend in FGO and it's Lu Bu'd horse 'Red Hare' who is a female horse but since she believes she is the real Lu Bu, she is a man when summoned. One quick thing. While America does hand way away zerker Cu as solely due to Medb, he already qualified for the class but was unlikely to ever be summoned as such. It is where the whole "dog" thing comes from for Cu, he went crazy during a battle and killed the guard dogs a king then swore to be the guard dog until they could be replaced. She is our engineer, technical advisor, and temporary leader after the death of Romani during the final chapter of the first arc. Long story short during the start of the second arc Da’Vinci is kill by one of the main antagonists when they raid our facility. However it is revealed shortly afterword that between the first and second story arc Da’Vinci made a backup body for herself just in case. And she made it a child body because Da’Vinci doesn’t do the same thing twice. So when the first Da’Vinci died the second Da’Vinci woke up not only acting as her successor but also as the orimary control unit for Chaldea’s escape vehicle which is why she’s a rider.

I disagree on Jack, both interpretations are pretty cool and interesting. Obviously the shape shifter is really cool and unique. But loli Jack isn't just an excuse for a girl in a skimpy outfit. The idea is that Jack only targeted prostitutes, many of whom were pregnant. And so that mass of "unborn children" who were victims created a curse that manifested in this form. Both Jacks are two sides of a coin. Strange/Fake Jack is an interpretation of Jack the Ripper the serial killer, and Apocrypha Jack is an interpretation of Jack's victims. I think Apocrypha Jack is much cooler conceptually on a thematic and philosophical level, while Strange/fake Jack is just cooler on a surface/action level.

The reason why Mordred is wearing practically nothing to cover her chest, in-universe it's explained that because she sees herself as a man (due to her familial issues with Arthur and wanting to be the heir to Camelot's throne, which required that people believe her to be male), she tries to dress the part (or at least what she *THINKS* is "dressing the part", as she did not have anything close to a normal childhood so she doesn't actually know what the "normal" way to dress would be, so she generally just goes with whatever "clothing" she thinks is the most comfortable) and she gets royally pissed off if you ever refer to her as a woman (to the point that the first time you do it within earshot of her, she will immediately press the edge of her sword's blade to your neck and say that if you call her a woman again, that she will kill you for it). And Mordred isn't someone you want to have pissed off at you, as despite her being a Saber, she actually fights more like a Berserker and she is extremely aggressive in battle. She may not be quite as strong as Artoria, but she's slightly tougher and a bit more durable. Fate also portrays her in a very tragic and sympathetic light, as Mordred, despite the fact that she's considered one of the villains of the Arthurian legend, is actually a good person at heart and she was the most chivalrous out of all of the Knights of the Round Table, outdoing even the likes of Galahad and Lancelot in that regard. The only reason she revolted against Arthur was because, despite how many times and how hard Mordred tried to genuinely earn the right to be named as Artoria's heir, Artoria refused to even consider Mordred as a possible heir, and this led to Mordred incorrectly believing that Artoria hated her. But Artoria in fact did not hate Mordred and simply did not know how to be a good parent to Mordred, and the reason Artoria refused to name Mordred as her heir is because Artoria wanted to spare Mordred from the burden of Camelot's throne....and the reason Mordred wanted the throne was simply so that Artoria could then be free to live her own life however she wished and to be free of the burden of the throne. In short, they both wanted to protect and "save" each other in their own ways, but this ultimately led to them inadvertently driving a wedge between themselves. And it also didn't help that Mordred also had Morgan le Fay whispering in her ear and further messing with Mordred's head. Mordred is also one of the friendliest people you could meet when you get down to it, as she doesn't really care about formality and would be content to just hang out, chill with you and have fun. She's hot-headed, but in a good and endearing way, and you can always count on her to have your back when it mattered most. Fionn McCumhail's last name is pronounced "McCool". The one thing she wants most is to die, which is part of the reason she trained Cu, as she hoped he'd be able to kill her one day, but by the time his training was done, she was too strong and he wasn't able to kill her. Scathach would side with humanity over trying to destroy it (the only reason she's hostile in Fate Extella Link is because Karl Magnus managed to mind control her). Scathach is easily one of the most powerful Lancers in existence, and her skill as a mage is equal to her skill as a warrior which means she's also an extremely powerful Caster. Scathach is so strong that she is literally capable of killing beings at the same level of power as actual Gods. With Fran, in Fate it's actually a case of Frankenstein creating the Bride of Frankenstein (Fran) first, and then he created the classic Fraknenstein's monster. So Fran is actually the Bride of Frankenstein rather than Frankenstein's Monster.

Rider's Pegasus is just as out of nowhere in the VN to my recollection. The idea is that the Pegasus is tied to her mythology somehow. The thing about the VN is you get to read excerpts from Shirou's perspective whenever something major happens. You get a lot of additional context the anime's can't convey.

From my understanding, in mythology, Pegasus was literally born from her body after Perseus decapitated her. Hence, her wounding herself and drawing her own blood allows her to summon Pegasus to fight with her. Hence, Rider class. Hope this cleared things up.
