I really wanna see a version of polish mountain now where you rub away the center with acetone qtips. You'd have to use a much smaller mountain but it'd be like a lil polish volcano. You could fill it with a tiny dab of baking soda + holo powder mix and vinegar to make holo lava. Or drizzle in Red Licorice. Is this a bad idea? Probably. Am I a teensy bit drunk? Absolutely. But mostly I'm just curious how much acetone it would take to burrow through like 50 layers of nail polish.

Rubbing layers away with acetone actually works really well, you have to make sure you use a lot of acetone and very gentle pressure so you don't just smear it, but it's really easy to take off layers of polish or make a layer thinner.

The plant at 2:36 is the glaucous dog rose (Rosa dumalis) which is quite common in northern Europe. The red fruit is the accessory fruit to the plant and is called rose hip. You can boil the rose hips, strain the seds and add sugar and get a delicious dessert soup (called nyponsoppa), best enjoyed steaming hot with a vanilla ice cream scoop during rainy October nights. Also, turtles are shield toads (sköldpadda) in Swedish lol.

You can buy silicone for fluid art that is just pure silicone at any art supply store. I do this technique for large acrylic pours. For a bottle of nail polish (which you will then never use for any other purpose because the whole point is cell generation) 1 drop may even be too much in a lot of cases--I use 1 drop for 2 oz of acrylic paint. Note that after the polish dries, before top coat, you may need to wash your hands with soap and water to remove residual silicone to prevent failure in the top coat, which means you have to let the whole thing dry the hard way, for a while, before you do anything involving top coat.

FYI the anti-frizz hair product is typically dimethicone + cyclomethicone. Dimethicone is viscous. The other is thin and used as a base for dry oil perfume but it can cause slips and falls so we don't see it often use this way anymore. A blend of dimethicone and cyclomethicone is sold under the name, BOTANISIL (or it used to be). I have more than I can use for several years so I won't be looking for a refill for a while. Start with a cosmetic ingredient company or chemical supplier (cosmetic not industrial grade, of course).

I've tried it so many times. It never works for me. I've wasted a dozen bottles of polish trying everything from a drop to 1/4 a bottle. I gave up & bought the polish, and that doesn't work for me. I'm starting to wonder if my nails have some freak chemical composition that resists. Really, I have a full shoe box of attempts. You'd think I'd get it right just by accident at some point.

I think that "tomato 🍅" is really a rose hip 🌹 🥀 Edit: oh wait some one told her 😆 🤣. Rose hips are the fruit that comes after a rose flower wilts. You can eat them because they are fruit,and they are a really good source of vitamin C, but you have to be careful if the hairs in the seeds because they are itchy and you don't want that.

The second one (with the rose hip in the background) was done using blooming gel. Blooming gel expands on the nail and can be used to make bubbles as shown or by using small lines you can get a cool rose

:O the only time my nails have looked anywhere near as good as those was when I would wear nail wraps/stickers (was Jamberry an MLM?). I still have heaps of Jamberry sheets left because I didn't want to "waste" them. Next time I paint my nails, I'll drag them out with my Holo Tacos and see if you can tell the difference on the Discord :D Side note: has anybody moved to a more humid area and now your nails are trashed? Trying to figure out whether it was just moving house, or if going from a low humidity location to a high humidity location made my nails weaker and easy to break. Could be a nutrition thing too, my iron is always low and I'm not great at eating my vegetables. They feel a little stronger now, but we'll see once I let them grow past my finger tips.

It's NOT shield-frog. The word is Schildkröte, which means shield-toad. Also, the material/texture recreated isn't even called that. It's called Schildplatt, which would translate to shield-flat

2:35 yeah, no, that is *not* a tomato 😆it is rose hip, like people said. tomatoes dont grow like that, and their stems and leaves also very much don't look like that. rose hip is a sweet but sort of hard "shelled" fruit that grows on some rose varieties. you can make the *best* marmalade from it 😍
