I played this game with my friends and got reaaaaally mad that one of my favourite games atm, Limbus Company, was marked not woke. The main character is nonbinary, but a lot of redditors are convinced they're male? (Every character refers to them with they/them, and sure their name is Dante, but there's also female characters who are named after male literary characters, so gender doesn't matter.) I like the fact that in Super Lesbian Animal RPG's case, the description says "Multiple non-binary npcs that use they/them pronouns", because that's something that you would only know if you played the game. You would have had to go through the game to encounter the specific NPCs that they're talking about, and heard the NPCs mentioned in dialogue in order to notice that. There's a person that runs this account that purchased and played "Super Lesbian Animal RPG" in order to find out if it's woke, and then afterwards put that summary of the game out in order to warn potential buyers that "Super Lesbian Animal RPG" does, in fact, contain gay people.

I've never played DDLC, so I could be off base here, but it's especially funny to me because couldn't you read that as an anti-woke categorized thing for her to say too?? I don't think the maybe-kinda-gay thing at the end is what did it for DDLC. They're also weird about depictions of mental health issues, and especially don't like it when games ask them to examine tropes / genres they would rather just uncritically enjoy. DDLC asks them to consider the idea that their fantasy of a cozy after-school club full of hot girls who exist solely to fulfill the main character's desires might be kinda hard on the girls. And that's an uncomfortable thought, so it's obviously woke. Also, I would bet that no one involved in making this list has ever played any of the games on it. @@aubreyathame In the Knoxx DLC there is Mr. Shank and Chaz, although that is definitely missable if one were to to only play the base game. On that note there is also Athena although she could probably get a pass as she only ends up in a lesbian relationship after the Pre Sequel. I don’t think there’s much else LGBTQ content in the first game, usually becomes more prominent in the following ones.

Main antagonist are the Atlas corporation, not “military complex”, and it is not necessarily a story about an antagonist that needs to be defeated, rather multiple arcs that leads to the final goal, Atlas just happens to get there first. Besides, most people that says something about Borderlands view through the lens of the more recent games, so they don’t actually understand something’s about it.

Just because they aren't as in your face about it as later titles, doesn't mean they aren't antagonists. An antagonist is someone who opposes the protagonists and the one that does so for the longest period of time in the first game is Atlas. And for the point of them not being the military-industrial complex, please define for me what you think that phrase means. Because as far as I understand, it is referring to the relation between a state/nation, and those who provide said state/nation arms. All* of the manufacturers *(Potentially excluding your game's brand of psycho) fit neatly within both categories of the complex. That is, of course, my opinion,should you see fit, I look forward to your response.

The original anti-woke groups were just people who wanted characters in media to be more than just “strong female character” or “incredibly gay and proud” with no personality. There are some points where WCD make points about certain games to call them woke while missing out on way more blatant points, or times when they’ll declare a game not woke when it should have woke elements by their own standard of “criticism” of if I should even call it that, such as Another Crab’s Treasure having an anti-capitalist story that would qualify as woke yet that’s either ignored or miraculously unnoticed in favour of “you can wear pride colours”. So there is a case to be made that these people potentially didn’t even play half the games they looked at if any And now I don’t know what’s funnier, WCD paying money for games they’re attempting to start boycotts for to absolutely triple-check that Super Lesbian Animal RPG or Futadom World isn’t woke, or that they’re just having the stereotypical anti-woke joke write itself by not actually playing the game and just doing surface-level research while making sure not to grill the games they like playing toooo much for having the occasional wokeism

It's easier to assume that they probably either pirate the games or see a longplay for those, but since they are a community that prides themselves in "protecting" us from the "woke mind-virus", the probability that they also pay for these games is also there for them to uphold a "legit" reputation, as crazy as it is. But I can agree on them making surface-level research, because I found that Age of Wonders 4 (a game that I have many hours played) is on the "woke" category because it "Contains overtly pro-LGBTQ+ messaging. Uses a body type slider instead of biological sex during character creation. Pronoun selection including an option to write custom pronouns". This is both true and false. True because it does use a body slider when we create the Ruler of our custom Faction, and gender is chosen separately. False because the only pronouns available are "He/Him" and "She/Her", and what they probably saw as a "option to write custom pronouns" is actually the title of our Ruler. Titles like "Dark Lord", "Fire Queen", or maybe "Goblin King", not exactly the type of "pronouns" these guys rage against.

I dunno if I'd say it "accurately" simulates medieval political systems, but yeah lol. I absolutely love ck3, I've played it a ton more since Roads to Power was released and few months ago, and like, I dunno how it's woke. Is the ability to make gay people accepted in society, which isn't exactly an easy thing to do in the first place, and which will generally open you up to getting beat up by the Catholics if you're doing it anywhere near Europe, what makes it woke? Like to my knowledge, there's no religion or culture in the base game which allows homosexuality, you gotta make that a thing yourself, so how is that woke? It's not being shoved down your throat, it's something you have to go out of your way to do. And if there are any that exists in the base game, they certainly aren't very big or populous on the map. I dunno I probably shouldn't think about it too much, its dumb either way.

Funny story about the Among Us pride banners. I hopped on a random lobby one night just to play a normal game... but the lobby was SUPER homophobic. I found out because they saw my trans flag and started ganging up on me to vote me out, changing the rules to make games as unplayable as possible, etc. I thought about leaving... but realized it would be WAY funnier to troll the lobby. I also met a person named Potato (if you are reading this hi... I really hope our paths cross again, it's Callie 2 from Among Us), and they helped me make those transphobes have an infurating 2 hours (until we got banned).
