One of the expressions of "Catholic Lite" has been the "New Mass". In the process of being made more "Lite", the Catholic Mass now has less visible reverence and piety, less kneeling and postures of worship, less "mea culpas", less "Lord, have mercy", less invoking of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Michael the Archangel, John the Baptist, the Apostles Peter and Paul and the saints. The Novus Ordo has less "Domine, non sum dignus" (Lord, I am not worthy). All these changes result in less visible prayer and probably less answers to prayer as a result of Mass participation.

“Develop its Christology…. Develop its self understanding….rethink relationship…. and renew it worship”: I have yet to have anyone clearly articulate on WHY this had to happen in light of our Apostolic tradition. Why would the Church change? From a lowly layperson: It would seem that V2 bishops were prideful, weak, and man-centered.. V2 took away the guardrails and here we are…. My observations drive me to the conclusion that V2 enables the “paradigm shift, highjack minded” - what other explanation could there be? I’m sorry, but I can not trust Mr. Weigel who seems to be just another V2 apologist. I wonder how bad it would need to get before he admits that there is in fact deep “infiltration” that was allowed by V2. Errors, modernism was already infecting the world, but V2 obviously enabled the acceleration. The results are indisputable. I was born after V2, so a NO family, but I have learned more of our tradition over the past 2 years. I can’t believe that we threw that away… God Bless

Weigel doesnt think tradition matters. Weigel is just a francis apoligist. No matter what francis says or does, weigel is right there to try and defend it, including pachamama and Francis saying the miracle of bread and loaves never happened, or that there is no hell.

George Weigel in some ways can be compared to Fulton Sheen who undoubtedly saw the disaster befalling the Church in the 1970’s and barely acknowledged it.He is no conservative.

Benedict XV1 has said recently that V2 brought great destruction to the Church and a "banal" Mass with it's champion, Paul V1.

The infallible Council of Trent and the moto proprio of Pius V held us in good stead for 500 years. All crashed down with the flowering of Modernism, the sum of all heresies, with V2 and the ham handedness of Paul V1.

Vatican II makes man the center at Mass and Jesus Christ told us to love God above everything else including ourselves. Big disconnect.

My seminary in the 90's described V2 as a paradigm shift. If you had lived through V2 you would sing a different tune.

Watching dancing priests, saying Mass half naked on a raft, giving a blessing with a guitar in gay masses, women saying the words of consecration, etc. What's wrong with that?

How are you going to approach the views presented by the German bishops? I do not want their views to destroy the church which will happen if they prevail!

Weigel fully supports those views, So does francis, but francis has to walk the tightrope of not falling into apostacy or heresy which would immediately remove him from the papacy, which remove his ability to promote his anti catholic agenda.

I love the Latin mass, but I respect Mother Church! I did listen once or twice to Taylor M. channel, but I starting feeling very uncomfortable with his presentations. I still believe he is a Protestant at heart, people must be careful to whom they are listening to; love your channel!
