No, he was born in Mumbai. He has told that in many interviews. You can even find some on youtube. The narration before Guftagoo is based on what was said in the interview. It is just that a lot is edited out from the actual video. Raza Murad was born in Mumbai, but was sent to Rampur for some years at his extended family home when he was a kid. So he spent is early childhood in Rampur and also had his early education there.
