수영야류
수영은 원래 좌수영이라는 지명의 준말로 조선 선조 때 현재의 수영에 경상좌도수군절도사영이 자리를 잡고 있었기 때문에 붙여진 것으로 오늘날까지 관아의 명칭을 줄여서 그대로 부르고 있다.
정월대보름 저녁에 마을사람이 함께 모여 즐기던 마을 축제의 한 형태로서 지역적 특성도 가지고 있다.
수영야류는 타락한 양반을 희롱하는 서민들의 놀음이며 풍자극으로,
살아있는 민족문화유산으로 인정받아 1971년 중요무형문화재 제43호로 지정 받았다.

01. 수영야류
제1과장(양반과장) 하인 말뚝이가 해학적인 풍자와 신랄한 독설로서 양반사회, 양반계급의 무능과 허세를 야유하며 수양반과 말뚝이의 대담장으로 춤이 어우러진다.
제2과장(영노과장) 수양반이 수심에 잠겨 거닐고 있는데 하늘에서 내려왔다는 영노가 검은 보자기를 쓰고 양반을 괴롭히다가 잡아먹는다.
제3과장(할미, 영감과장) 영감과 본처인 할미, 첩인 제대각시 사이의 애정과 갈등, 가정의 애환을 표현하는 과장이다.
제4과장(사자무과장) 사자가 등장하여 춤을 추고 있을때 범이 나타나 사자와 범이 어우러져 수작을 하다가 사자가 범을 잡아 먹는 과장으로 수영야류는 끝이 나고 놀이에 사용했던 탈은 소각한다.

Suyeong yaryu (masked dance drama of Suyeong region)
Suyeong is an abbreviation of the Jwasuyeong, which is the name of the location during the Joseon period. This name was given because the Naval Force Commander of the Gyeongsangjwa-do was located at the current location of Suyeong and the abbreviated version of this government office name is continuously used today.
This performance has regional characteristics as it is a type of town festival, where the villagers gathered to celebrate on the night of the full moon in January.
Suyeong yaryu was a play enjoyed by the common people that ridiculed the corrupt noble class. It was recognised as a living national cultural heritage and became designated as the Important Intangible Cultural Property No. 43 in 1971.

01. Suyeong yaryu
Act 1 (Nobleman) The servant Malttugi mocks the noble society and the incompetence and pretension of the noble title through humorous satire and bitter remarks while the nobleman and Malttugi argues and dances together.
Act 2 (Yeongno) As the anxious nobleman wonders around, Yeongno who is wearing a black cloth and claims to have come down from the heavens torments the nobleman and eats him.
Act 3 (Old Woman and Old Man) This act portrays the affection, conflict, and family grief that occur between the old man, his wife old woman, and the concubine Jaedaegaksi.
Act 4 (Lion Dance) As a lion makes its entrance and dances, a tiger appears and they talk to each other. Suyeong yaryu ends with the lion eating the tiger and the masks used during the play are burned.
