You are a very good teacher. So your heart is in it, to be able to express this information so fully. I have admired certain daycares, when I have seen some unruly kids go there, and within a month, they have learned their alphabets, and numbers. I be amazed, like how do they do this. My granddaughter, at 3yrs old, went to this lovely daycare, and her teacher, Mrs.Tate, who I love to this day, within 6months, my 3yr old grand, could name the President of the USA, at that time was Obama, could name the mayor of our county, and the mayor of our city. I was so impressed by this, that I recorded her saying this. What I gathered of how she was able to teach this way, is since my grand is a few years older now, and I see more of a political side to her, like maybe she'll be a judge someday. So what I gathered was each child has a certain strength, or brightness about them, that once you spot it, you cultivate it, to pull it out of them. Children need encouragement. I have seen many talented adults, that don't even know they have a talent. Many brilliant artists in jail, drawing exquisite pictures for others to send home. And when I see this talent, I be like, why didn't someone encourage them as a child, to cultivate this talent. It's like when I home schooled my nieces and nephews, when I saw the 8yr olds, knew their time tables up to ×12s, I saw math, as their strength, and praised and encouraged them and told them if they get strong in math,English, and science, they could be anything they wanted to be. I use to tell one, he was going to be the banker. When one was exceptional at music, I encouraged that, even when one was exceptional at getting to the highest levels playing videos, I encouraged that. The reason why I had to do things in this manner is because when I first went into homeschooling I was overwhelmed, because I had 8kids, all with different separate personalities, and I could get no order. I had wondered how could the public school teacher, with 30kids, all with different personalities do it. So as I began teaching them, and saw where their strength was, I pounced on that, and said I would just make whatever their strength was, their Major. Then I also let the 2 oldest, 12 and 13, be my helper too, like playing substitute for schooling the 2 youngest. This is what brought some order back, by connecting the personality with their talent, kept everyone in their own place. It was just a temporary, 3month thing, I was helping them through, but it was a learning experience I didn't forget. Keep up your good work. ✌❤🙏

Great tips! When I taught preschool my "time out" spot had a task that needed to be done before they joined the group. Usually a puzzle, lacing beads, something that was "easy" for them but took enough time to get their attention and focus off whatever was going on. This worked great. I also think sticking to a schedule really helps keep everyone from fighting. The kids seem to loose control when they have been free playing for too long. I think its when everyone starts to get a little bored. Thanks for the video.

Glad I can help! My best advice would be to get a sheet of paper, put a line down the center and just start listing pro's and con's. Sometimes seeing it all on paper gives me a better perspective. Let me know if you have any questions!

Hi Sam. I really love how real you are when talking about your child care. Great advice and tips! I have my own family daycare and have been open for 3 years in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Before that I worked in a childcare center for 10 years.

In Georgia, you can't even tell them "no" let alone put them in time out. I used to work in a daycare and basically, the kids got away with murder. I had a biter but I think I got him kicked out of Early Head start. Oops.
