I have taken care of my granddaughter at home since her mom went back to work at 12 weeks now she is 20 months old. I love it. I left my job in a daycare to stay home with her. My daughter and her husband pay me just enough to where i can buy insurance on marketplace. I am trying to start a daycare so this video was perfect. I will be watching more! Thanks

I\'m not sure but ,if anyone else wants to discover how to run a home daycare business try Stiklind Daycare Setup Fixer ( search on google ) ? Ive heard some decent things about it and my m8 got amazing results with it.

I have had a Home day for over 30 years. Lots of sickness for sure. Kids come sick and you end up with it. The hours are long. I work 6 am to 6 pm five days a week. The plus side is you are working from home so you save money on transportation, clothes and meals. You are the boss. You plan the curriculum. I have 6 children which is my maximum amount in Pa. I have one baby and the rest are toddlers and preschoolers. I take 6 weeks to 5 years. I am full all the time and get paid well. You video was very good. You didn’t miss much. I would say that policy and procedures hand book is the most important to protect you. Make sure you have insurance also. If you are not licensed you can’t get insurance and that is dangerous.
@melissaroman47193 жыл бұрын
Do you set your own price or do you get paid by the state ? Or it's up to you ? I'm in Pa as well
@jeanshimpeno453 жыл бұрын
@@melissaroman4719 my CCIS children i get paid once a month by state. They set the price and it is lower than my cash paying parents. I limit to two children. I do set my own price for the non state funded children. I set them the same as the daycare center down the street from me. My children get a wonderful education here and I can do a lot of extras with the children that most centers don’t do.

Also, the many examples you provided during the count down was greatly appreciated. I'm planning to go live with home daycare within a year so I'll be watching all of your videos. Keto Sammi ok thank you. I also volunteered at my aunts at home daycare for 4 years and I loved it. I think the hardest part for me is going to be when I move out of my parents place in the future and need to find a place big enough for a at home daycare and having enough money for a house and to get started. But I will figure out a way to get started since I have a while before I open a daycare. My goal is that one day I will be able to own my own and if not I will just work at a daycare.

Hello I am a family child care provider as wel. I have been up and running for almost 2 years. I have babysat children for years and this is a whole new ball game. Pros and cons definitely. This is an actual business I am running. I still deal with anxiety of things. Im more comfortable with the children than I am with their parents. The children are soooo much easier to deal with to me anyway lol. But overall I am having fun. Despite finding time to seperate work from family. Im thinking of what I need or want to do with my home daycare when Im suppose to be enjoying movie nights lol. My children are funny when Im doing that my children take my notebook, planner and pens lol away from. If I show resistance they call their dad. They huddle together and say mom we love you and this is family time not work time. While we all are laughing my 12 year old comes any mom we doing for your fun. The they all yell intervention over now back to fun we all high five and say lets get it. Then we laugh and I tune out work and enjoy my family. #WorkIntervention. Thanks so much for your video and yes it is lonely sometimes. But worth it.

I’m a pre k teacher in a school, but I really enjoy your videos and listening to you talk 😂you’re such an excellent resource for home daycare providers and all of the families/kids you work with are very fortunate to have such a professional, knowledgeable, and experienced person caring for them. I also watched your tour video and your home is beautiful & I love how you have everything laid out. If ever I decide to retire from working in a school and I’m blessed with a nice home, I will definitely be referring to you if I decide to go the home care route. ❤️ PS I’m a 33 year old pre k teacher for 3 and 4 year olds in a charter school in NJ. I’ve been an educator since 2006 and have my K-5 and Pre k-3rd grade licenses. I do lesson plans, have licensing guidelines to adhere to within my policies and procedures, cleaning, etc. I also have some freedom with my personal classroom policies and procedures, “discipline”, communicating with parents, etc. I also work part time in a day care where I’m usually in one of the infant rooms or with the toddlers. The day care began as a home day care but has expanded to a larger center with about 50 babies/young children and of course teachers to accommodate them. I would love to connect with a fellow educator because yes, it can be a lonely job! Schools are filled with back stabbing and drama believe it or not so I don’t tend to go out of my way to make friends. I’m friendly of course, but I don’t tend to share or get in depth about anything with my fellow teachers because it usually comes back to me regretting getting close to anyone. All of my social media’s are @mscalleighbaby and my email is calleighjvincent@gmail.com. If ever you need a friend, have a question, need any ideas about anything, etc. I’d love to talk!

Hello. I am a current resident of the state of Texas and was wondering if I could have the actual link of the website that tell you state's requirements to become licensed daycare that you mentioned? In addition, the Texas's guidelines that informs people the ratios allowed inside the household according to the handbook. I hope I am not asking for too much as a random youtuber. Thanks so much for your video, it was super helpful.

I have a younger child. How do you get your own kids to and from school for example when parents drop off their children early before your children’s school begins how do you take your kids to school when you already have kids to watch. And how do you pick your kids up from school when you can’t leave because parents havnt picked up their kids yet? Sorry if that’s confusing lol

Great video and advice! Does the pros outweigh the cons? I’m really considering leaving my corporate job.
@mommytomany56746 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! I think it depends on what your goals and lifestyle are. I have worked both corporate and in home and feel there are benefits to both. Being a home daycare provider is very rewarding and currently fits my lifestyle the best. However once my daughters go to school, I do plan on opening a small center in my area. Being home can be incredibly isolating and lonely. In the corporate world, you have a boss and co-workers to lean on. At home, it's just you and that can be overwhelming. There is no time for "hard days" or "phoning it in days" when you are home. However, not having a commute, wearing what I want, creating my own schedule, controlling WHO I take and HOW I run my program is invaluable. I feel in complete control and THAT is the biggest pro for me. Plus I can be with my babies and be a "home away from home" for those families who have to work. Hope that helps!

What happens if your kids have a doctor’s appointment? Or if you or your kids get sick? I used to work in a daycare center and I would go in at 7:00 AM and get off at 5:00 pm I got sick so much the first year I worked in daycare. I got strep throat twice in one year and the stomach bug. Never did get the flu though!
