I had some problems with the Malgus battle but I accidentally found out that letting KRU get the deatmark works pretty well. He doesn't get effected by it and SLKR has a bunch of time to ramp up his damage. Once KRU got the deathmark the battle was really easy

I was struggling beating the Malgus proving grounds with my SLKR. Last month, I did beat him, but it took me something like 25 attempt. I decided to look for help and came across this video. I don't have Malak, and I can't really afford to work on unlocking him for months, so I was a bit disappointed. Nevertheless, the idea of using Thrawn's fracture seemed really good. So I went and geared him up to try (I wasn't using him much, so I had him at around gear 10) and got him to relic 3 with the mats I've been hoarding for Rey. The team I ended up using : SLKR, KRU, Hux, FOST and Thrawn. Took me around 5 tries and I got it ! Thank you for the video ! It helped a lot :)

@@indelacius yes, but it does take me anywhere from 5 to 15 tries everytime for good RNG, which can be annoying. Mostly it comes down to making sure your Thrawn doesn't get feared and that Malgus has his taunt up otherwise you can only fracture whoever has the deathmark. You also gotta play around Bastilla's wild lightning as it can kill your Thrawn if he isn't very beefy. I'm sure it would take a lot less time to get it done with Malak. I had the conquest pass + this month. Yesterday took me A LOT of tries, the RNG just wouldn't line up. Took me like an hour to get it done. Today, on the regular proving grounds, I did it after restarting twice. In other words, doing it without Malak can be a real pain, but it's possible.

The only thing is I wish we could find a team that was non-GL. Those are always the most interesting.

I beat all the pg tiers for the first time today, I was previously unable to beat interceptor and Malgus. I used thrawn, slkr, Vader, malak and kru to beat interceptor and then slkr, malak, thrawn, kru and traya to beat Malgus.

Gonna put this out there; just beat Malgus with KRu led SLKR team! Took 8-10 retries to get good RNG and I got lucky enough to build 100% Ult and used the same strategy as the Interceptor. Worked with Malgus getting marked after Revan! 🎉 Edit: For clarity’s sake, iirc 1st Ult was popped around 85% 2nd at 100%. Can’t remember if I poked Revan first or swiped first to gain TM/clear debuffs.. think it was the former.

Ok, just got Malgus finished again using this same setup. Took a few hours to get rng where Revan wasn’t using his 2nd special that turbo charges the enemy? 80-90% of the time, the enemy Revan would 2nd special followed up by Malgus’ leap taking out KRu out before I’ve even done anything.

@@CaptainAmazing_swgoh you can, but they are much more likely to pick your team apart within a matter of seconds. I had several times where I was left with SLKR and like FO ST or Sith Trooper before having the chance to take a second turn. Edit: I’m talking about with the KRu led standard SLKR team.

I don’t have that zeta, probably not as well. Since there are no other Empire characters. It’s not a bad zeta. It’s just not necessary.

@ maybe, 305 is what I used. The biggest thing is just rng, so probably will be ok if you follow the guide.

Whelp, guess I'll have to try next time. I got SLKR recently and I'm still at 7/10 for his ult. I was giving malgus a bunch of attempts, using hondo instead of thrawn because I haven't relic'd thrawn. I got pretty close a couple times, but without the ult I don't think it's possible. I've also been using traya instead of FOST. She doesn't taunt but with the amount of debuffs they throw out it's not easy for them to kill her and if you can land an isolate on malgus it helps a lot.

Probably not to be honest. You can give it a shot. But, I doubt it will work without Malak. The good thing is, he’s an amazing character. His unlocks make two great teams, and it doesn’t take long to unlock him.

I'm very close to unlocking Malak, but he'll be at 5 stars for a bit. Does he still make this work for Malgus at 5 stars? My SLKR is r8, and I have r6 Thrawn.

No, you need relic 3 on a character to use them for proving grounds. You can replace Malak with Traya, or maybe Daka Zombie might be ok.

I'm due to gear up Traya tbh. For the moment, I do have a r5 zeta Daka and r3 Zombie. What would the team comp be with them? Do you still use Thrawn? I've found in all my attempts using SLKR, KRU, FOST, Hux, and Thrawn, that 85% of the time he never gets a turn to Fracture Malgus, and the other 15% of the time when he does, they kill Thrawn so quickly after the Fracture that it makes little effect. Mine is r6, decently modded, no zetas on him though. I REALLY want to work on Malgus. He's one of my favorite characters overall, and it bothers me that those of us who joined the game since a Conquest character's event not only have to go through an INSANELY long farm to achieve them, but also the farm itself is so overtuned that those of us with younger accounts can go months without winning any shards. The farm shouldn't be BOTH excessively long AND exceedingly difficult. I wish I could whale to get him and other conquest toons, but even that's really limited. I just don't get why the event has to be so fricken hard. Malgus, Fury, and Tie Interceptor. Have yet to beat all three.

Something definitely seems off with your Tie/In battle. First of all you stripped Reva's taunt when your FOST did not have Advantage which he needs to be able to strip taunt in the first place. SLKR also counter attacked which generates TM for him allowing him to jump ahead of Reva and GI... my SLKR never once has countered in this battle. I've tried countless times to replicate this. My SLKR is even faster than this one but cannot even see a turn before its already game over.

it takes some rng. I didn't have any issues once I added Malak to the mix. It makes the RNG much more reliable compared to doing it with just a full first order squad. I don't know what to tell you other then I unlocked the Tie/Int with this squad very reliably. Also, the modding on the account I used was very lack luster.

I watched it again to refresh myself. If you watch when FOST gets hit by the AoE from Grand Inquisitor. He gains advantage and counters. Which calls SLKR to assist.

It completely sucks ive beaten it at two stars and this time around ive played it 20 times and im getting stomped . Nothing about this is engaging or fun its just trash. Just like trying to beat rey in the ultimate journey. Your experience shouldn't revolve around complete rng its lazy developing.

I’ve used it to unlock every proving ground, also many other people have been using it for months, if you are having bad rng. It might be your mods. Are you using the exact recommended team?
