Guide Gear meat band saw, or meat cutting machine, is a good resource for those who can't or don't want to spend a lot of money on the meat cutting options. You can get great cuts as demonstrated in this review.
Apparently this saw is not easy to find now, I've included a similar type of saw that is a bit of an upgrade from this. The link is below.
Amazon Purchase Saw Paid Link: amzn.to/3sMt5BW
I am not sponsored or paid by any saw manufacturer for this review.
Demonstrations of the Chinese made band saw and performance on a deer ham and loin.
These band saws are available under many different names (eg. Stark, Sportsmen, Cabelas, Walmart, etc.) , they are the same saw if you look close enough. It works pretty well considering that you don't have to pay the $2,000 for a commercial grade saw. Just know that you aren't getting a $2,000 performance either. Worth the small amount of money I spent. As with any saw, you've got to be patient, careful and know your safety.

*Perfect band saw for the hobby enthusiast **MyBest.Tools** Easy to set up and square. Had it running in 10 to 15 minutes. Quality of cuts will depend on the quality of the blades.*

This little band saw has turned out to be the best tool purchase I've ever made kzbin.infoUgkx5ZrqmYO2uJq_nuU8TopyWxVzn8vqmPUL Once doing the set-up as per the included suggestions, this table top tool has been my go-to saw ever since (8 months as of this review). There are few things I wouldn't attempt with this saw. It takes up much less space than my table saw yet delivers twice as much punch. I've used it to create slices of wood no thicker than an 1/16th of inch by using the POWERTEC BS900RF Rip Fence. For small shop projects this tool can't be beat.

Made me nervous, there is not lot power in that saw, sound. Lucky didnt pull your left hand in. Do like i wrote before. And drop the top depth down to suit. Dont let that slow motor twist blade. Stand in front, use waist against table cut left to right. Collect chop with left hand. Safer, its the way forward.

I served my time as a butcher as a young lad. Bit of advice. Stand in front of saw. Turn the blade so teeth face your right.

Set your top bearing 1/4" above the thickest part of the stock being cut. It'll keep the blade more taught.

I think there is no problem with the Bone Saw, the problem is the meat was not totally frozen when it was cut. If it's frozen totally it should have cut it easily.

How long in total did it take to make all of those cuts? I currently use the methods of The Bearded Butcher using just a knife to cut the meat off the bone. I’m curious if using a saw like this would be more efficient.
@TeachaMantoFish
@TeachaMantoFish 4 жыл бұрын
I don't know how long bearded butcher takes to do it, but on the saw all those cuts took less than an hour. It is difficult to break down and clean up the saw. It is a bit of a pain cleaning up the saw.

This Guide Gear meat saw has the worst assembly manual I've ever seen in my life. In case it helps somebody, here are the electrical connections that I figured out: main rectangular switch has connections labeled 1, 2, 3, 4. small round overload protector has connections labeled "line" and "load" inputs to those switches are POWER cord, MOTOR, and a separate short single wire called "red" in the manual, but which is actually black. POWER black: "line" POWER white: 3 MOTOR black: 2 MOTOR white: 4 separate black ("red"): 1 and "load" MOTOR and POWER green grounds: together on the back of the bottom switch screw connected to the main steel case.
