Yes! It really is! It is a little feature that most don't realise exists which is why I wanted to make sure I covered it. I am really glad I could help.

Thanks for the great video, is there a way to force your objects to move with your guidlines? for example, I want to create a guideline, create a path based on it, and then rotate the guidline to whatever position I want. the problem is that the path I created does not snap to the guidline, but rather just stays in one spot.

The quick answer is no, there is no way to rotate 'with' a guide line. However, if you are having issues with your paths not snapping to the guides you have created, that will be due to not having the relevant option enabled within the snapping menu. To rectify that, simply click the dropdown menu that is next to the snapping button (Top-right of the screen) and make sure that 'Snap To Guides' is enabled. Hope this helps. You can also reach out via email if not and I can try to help that way.

Hi Rob Thankyou for a wonderful video on guides. If you have time, can you show us how we can add dimensions and dimension lines eg on a square. Regards John

Thank you so much my friend. The guide lines are useful for all sorts of lining-up however, if you are looking to use guide lines for any straight lines, you can do that my snapping onto the corner then rotating until it snaps into place. Regardless, I will see if I can add it into a future video for clarification.

I literally had no idea that we could even rotate guide lines in Inkscape. And I have been using it since 2014!

I know the feeling my friend, it also took me a long time before I realized too. I am glad I could teach you something you didn't already know after a decade of using Inkscape. Maybe I should come to you for advice if I get stuck in the future, right! haha #StayCreative my friend

I find an alternate easy way to remove a single guide line is to (without any object selected! ) is to hold the DELete key on the keyboard and slowly passing the curser arrow over the line.
@ButtonPressGraphics6 ай бұрын
Yes! It works both ways. So, whichever is easiest for yourself is the one you should use. I find it easier to select the line & hit delete but as they say "You, do you!" Thanks for the comment because that is something I wanted to mention but I completely forgot whilst recording lol. #StayCreative
