hey, thanks for reminding me of Templar's wrath. I used it in the past for aggro but kind of forgotten about it. Against good damage dealers, i TW twice at the beginning of the fight against bosses and I'm set for the whole fight. aggro issues fixed. Thanks for the guide! 👍

love your video brother. i am a fighter tank. every power i have slotted, even my at wills are ones which give increased threat. i am at work now so i do not have them all memorized, my bad. but i see others always calling the nerf card. i learn to adapt or with help with aragons videos. being able to adapt is a better player not the one who calls the nerf card the most.

Another bonus of Oath Strike, it does two hits per swing, which increases the chance of proc'ing things like Baneful Strikes, which is nice.

Smite is the iconic quintessential paladin spell though! I just find it hard not to use it. Especially since every time I cast it, in my head I am yelling at the target "By Moradin's divine might, I smite thee!" (yes, my toon is a dwarf). Plus, it hits really hard and uses a relatively low amount of divinity. Thus, it is hard for me NOT to use Divine Challenger as is maximizes smite's usefulness. That being said, I suppose if I ever get into situations where I just cannot seem to generate divinity fast enough I would have to switch to Composure.

I'm lazy, so I use Burning Light (Feated), Sacred Weapon (Feated) and Smite (Divine Challenger). I keep this even for Single-Target since I like the Shield of Burning Light plus it has decent Single-Target magnitude despite being AoE. Pretty inefficient, but it works out for me- when in doubt, Smite! Thanks for the detailed video!

In zariel challenge, as secondary tank u can grab the aggro when 1st one is stun just using vow of enmity in that time ?

Aragon, how did you get the numbers of 9 and 72 as threat multipliers. Is it possible to find this out via ACT logs or is it listed somewhere?

you need to test it with a party member and dummies using the aggro bar. Lets say a dps hits a dummy for 1 mill damage and you have no other aggro on the dummy. Then you hit the dummy until you have aggro, you hit with like valorous strike and you deal 111k damage to the dummy and then have aggro. then 1 mill divide 111k is about 9. There is your threat modifier.

Hi, really useful ! thanks for the in-depth aggro guide. I might be late on this but i have question : does the oath of protection X9 threat multiplier applies on every source of damage you do as a paladin ? ( for example : Mount power like tunnel vision, Artifact power that deals damage like halaster scepter, Item power like neverwinter falcon, Enchant proc like embrase one, Boon etc ... ) Tx !

the base threat value should apply to all our outgoing damage, Daily power, mount powers, Falcon, and manticores bite etc. I'd have to test each on separately to make 100% sure tho

The modifier on oath of protection went to 5.5 instead of 9, and thr modifier on sacred weapon went to 4 instead of 3. Otherwise intimidating presence seems broken now reducing threat by 5%

@@Aragon- LOL! So they _reduced_ Threat on Oath of Protection by 38.89%, and Intimidating Presence now _reduces_ Threat instead of increasing it? Oh, My Gawd Fathers... /oO\ Cheers, I updated our Guild Discord with some links to your recent vids, and saw links to this one! Hi, ive a lot of problems with my paladin, for example in IC if i take a single damage of a common mob, it shot me also if i have the shield up. Ive 700k hp, 80% defense and 47% awareness. Any ideas? Ty

Although I am on Burning light combo I also use Explosive Equalizer (100% bolster) in my tiny pulls (grin) but requires a solid survival setup.. Greetings, Ogguk Sanctus

How can Templar's Wrath have a cooldown of just 0,5 seconds??? EDIT: because of divinity cost I guess. Sorry but i have a Vanguard and the mechanics seem very different.

When I tested the +melee and +ranged rings around the time of mod17, only at-wills benefited from the melee ring, only Bane benefitted from the ranged ring.

@@Aragon- Hello Aragon, first off I’m console player but watch your videos often for tips. I struggle sometimes to hold agro in most particularly vos. Some runs go smooth, one run done in under an hour with a total of 4 deaths then the next run cannot get past first boss! I’m 52700 item level justicar. I run mastered weapon set, stalwart lion, mythic, diamond set, all rank 15 enchant, companion gear with all 15 and currently have bis gear except for chest piece. Is there a rotation you find that works well on initial combat and would it work throughout. I see DPS often run a rotation so I am just looking for a rotation that will help maintain agro. I do understand I will lose it in mobs here and there. Just want to support my team as best I can. Thanks for your work.

@@Bob27vr I find that Templar wrath with sufficient power should be able to grab aggro sufficiently well. If you need, slow down and regain divinity between each mob group, pop Templar 1-3 times and you should be set for that group
