Aragon does some bad ass uploads, again props. Thanks for the video! It was nice to hear the actual numbers behind threat generation. The video confirmed to me that the only way I can be better is by increasing my own damage output.

with tank u can become very rich. ppl always need tank. all my mount powers heal me. i also have companion powers which heal me. get those hit points up there with fortitude insignias. incoming healing is a big plus. at least 10%. then you can be called a solo tank.

No, not at all. It just looks good visually. I have completed the New trial Zariel with it, but it is harder without the 75% shield from Unyielding Champion.

good job. a lot of NW people have no idea what threat is. this is good to link them. In most MMO healers threat has a negative multiplayer around 2x (200k healing = 100k threat).

Very interesting point about the 10% more on a hard taunt. I wasn't aware that was how it worked specifically. This is why I'm surprised more people don't use baneful strikes - one of the best feats available to justicar, imo. Bane is a really good encounter with quite good damage and utility, and combined with Oath Strike, it procs a lot as a rule. Builds a lot of aggro, and can take the place of vow in most situations. Of course, there's those certain mobs in NW that simply ignore aggro rules completely...::cough::Valindra::cough:: I hope that in this mod, more DPS will learn what they can do besides simply holding back on damage, to keep the aggro on the tank - ie stealth for rogues. It sounds like Aura of Valor is going to become even more critical in mod 19.

I noticed this,my barbarian tanks had a really bad aggro holding until i set the cap of combat advantage, once C.A doubles my damage, i believe it doubles my aggro generation. I run tomm as a solo tank everyday and hardly lose the aggro even though running 1 top threat encounter.

More damage = more Aggro. That's what I've done too, capped my CA for Zariel.

Very helpful info here. do you have one for how to properly DPS so we don't grab agro?

the only real way as a dps to ensure you don't take aggro, is to deal less dps than the effective dps of the tank. At the begining of the fight you want to be careful when hitting with big hits. Just watch your own aggro bar, if its turning orange, slow down on dps, wait for it to go yellow again.

@@Aragon- Thanks, I wasn't aware of that bar til seeing this video. I've been trying to let the tank grab the agro 1st but a lot of times when you're playing with lower level players in dungeons, I'll pull agro w/o meaning to so I've started using just at-wills to do less damage.

When the bar is red and I'm only attacking one 1 mob. Does that mean that the rest of the mobs that I'm not hitting will only attack me and won't touch the other players in my group?

No, every enemy has it's own threat metre. For the all to attack you, you have to be red for every single one of them, when you look at them

Your threat is based on each target individually. You might have super high threat on one target and super low on another. It just depends on how much damage you did to it.

I currently use, 12k Combat advantage, then 7.2k crit avoid with 4.8k deflect, then 4.7k deflect with 7.1k combat advantage. That's these: [Gold-leafed Grimoire of the Companion][Briar-vined Sword Knot of the Companion][Dull Ring of the Companion]. Combined with a 20k defense ring and a Tanners ring, 12k ArP and 8k Acc

@@171Bogdan, I am using Assassin Enchants in all offense, and yes you are right, my Critical strike is sitting at about 82k and my Accuracy at 79k, not ideal, I'm still moving things around, but that is what I've tanked with so far and had a good few completion runs without dying or loosing aggro.

I see quite a lot of Vanguard tanks. They are the easiest to play, so the content wouldn't be anything special.

Really great video. I used to loose agro in beginning and once i had it kept it this explains why and where i went wrong . All tanks i asked for help could not THANK YOU !!! This is how aggro works, like it or not. You dont have to actually deal as much damage because the mobs and bosses think we do more damage than we actually do, as i say in the video!

And you can buy most of the good drops at the store anyways. ..most people purchase legendary mounts and high-ranking enchantments which is all you really need in the game.....

@@johndemech6397 yes you can pay your way through the game and troll on people while they check out your store bought gear, the lazy way to play. most people are lazy. i sell things at the auction house and i become rich by people being lazy, its really difficult and exhausting to click a mouse. most of us old school people to this game and others really grind to get what they have. i am not hating, just stating how i feel about it. thank you.
