Aaahhhh I love the idea of bringing city blocks to Valheim! Whilst it's not my personal aesthetic, it gives me ideas, and I've not seen any other creator take this approach, meaning your content will be fresh and unique!

When I built a town hall with my friend, we captured a greydwarf and put him behind the bar. You do have to take care of repairing once in a while but it really adds to the atmosfere when you have an angry barman shouting profanities at you. We also invaded someone else's server and build a little vendor hut with a greydwarf inside and all possible wares on the counter.

I have to admit, after being introduced to the city block concept in Factorio and then seeing it implemented in Dyson sphere by nilaus and not only loving it but adopting it into my style... Not sure I'm loving it in valheim lol. It's aesthetically pleasing and incredibly functional, but this isn't a factory, or a planet sized factory for that matter. If anywhere makes sense to free flow, it's a game like this. Either way, love the content man!!

Neat build. I like the use of varied elevation to make the building way more interesting than a normal rectangular or square building. My only worry is that your normal city block style is VERY vulnerable to things like trolls. The giant wall or trench around the base would protect you, but also restricts your ability to expand, which seems like it would absolutely go against the whole design of city blocks.

You're really good at building. I recently got a pier and a large house built, but I had issues with stability on the roof, and had to get creative to stabilize it. I also think thatch roofs get uglier the more you add to it lol I made my place square but I sectioned off 4 rooms and made a central throne room. I also use the console commands so I can enable flying while building. It's too much of a pain not using it.

Me and my buddy are playing our first runthrough of Valhiem and we're on day 90. We've been in the swamps for a while and have been building a new base with stone foundations rather than the wooden Gazeebo and port storage we had been using until now. I'd like to take some inspiration from your ep 1 base and use it for my smeltery. Do you think the gap will be able to handle the massive amount of smoke produced by 4 kilns and 5 furnaces? I'm loving this series so far and can't wait to see how you handle the elder boss in the next video, we struggled with it quite a bit.

Very pretty. When using the wood piles to cover up ugliness, did you know that you can make the piles intersect one another? Building a pile, and then "inserting" another at right angles lets you build a line of wood piles with a nice square pattern on top. Note that the positioning line, or whatever the vertical yellow dashed line is called when building, is not central to the wood pile.

So just to clarify on the 3 steps, back in the day they didn't have credit cards, to keep track of what you drank, so the cut off limit was different... if you fell off the 3 steps you were cut off, and if you could make them up, well... you had your head cut off. Not sure that we reach that limit now, but yeah if you can't make it up the steps, off with your head.. lol
