Dear Kate, you helped me a lot with your wonderful video. Because with my 54 kilos of weight I am not going to insist more on buying a Sherman or something like that. I just don't have anatomy to push that wheel, not even to slow it down on a very steep downhill. Thanks!! From Medellin Colombia

Same here! I realised that that, as a woman, the V11 as a training wheel is way out of my league. I just don’t have the weight and physical strength to handle it. I’ve just ordered a KS 16S.

@monocat.10113 жыл бұрын
To me it sounds like you are biting of the right amount :) with heavy wheels it is a bit more difficult to start learning, in my opinion. But definitely no problem, I was riding the Sherman quite early on, so I’m sure you can do it too!
@bepriceless3 жыл бұрын
Depends on your age. I'm 62, the learning process was very painful for me (muscles and feet) and I think the smaller wheel that I got for my first, made it a lot easier to learn. Those muscles that you don't use for anything else are going to scream with a bigger, heavier wheel. The down side of a light learning wheel, you do outgrow it and will have to get a second bigger wheel in less than a year. Most videos I've watched, they say learn with a smaller wheel.

@riccardovacchi1362 Жыл бұрын
@@milordas Sorry. I translated the comment here. 🇬🇧 Your video is useful and very pleasant to watch and listen to, thank you! I bought a used V11, because I weigh over 220lbs and needed a strong reliable wheel. It doesn't have much torque, but that's okay for now. I love the suspension and the high position of the footpegs, a really big plus for me. Even though I'm 58, it was easy for me to learn to ride it, I mostly go off-road to the park, but for now I don't do many tricks because I don't feel so confident yet, even if there are some passages in the woods that are challenging and I enjoy it a lot. I don't use it to go to work, I have an electric car which is more comfortable, and I have to consider that in Rome the traffic is crazy and single-wheeling on the street is dangerous and (unfortunately) still illegal, I rather go on the sidewalk at max 6 km /h... But I really like using it for all the little trips. The balance after the first months with the v11 is amazing, now I'm a single-wheeler inside!

The current situation in Italy is not good (as usual): some time ago politicians started a trial period for the so called "electric micromobility" that allowed scooter, eucs, segways etc to travel on specific areas determined by every city indipendently, but now it has finished and they made a law that allows scooters and maybe segways to travel at 25kmh on roads with a maximum 50kmh speed limit, but forgets about eucs limiting them to travel at 6kmh on pedestrian areas like, you know, hoverboards or other funky stuff

Hey chuck! I’m 6’5” and ~250 lbs before gear. I’ve chosen the Nikola AR+ from Alien Rides here in the US. I’ll be putting out some content on it shortly under this channel I have just created. Thanks to Kate her partner Adam and a few others I have taken the plunge and can’t wait to get more information out there! Another option is the Begode RS High torque model which has a pretty decent spec sheet and was recommended to me. Alternatively you could also check out the Kingsong 16X which is definitely aimed at the off-road trail crowd from my perspective. I just went for the Nikola AR + for the brand reputation for quality and more battery capacity!

The info about the Italian law is false. That 500w probably refers to ebikes. About EUC there's just a big mess and no rules. It's not even considered a vehicle because it has only one wheel (minimum is two by definition). According to the city you are they may don't care about you or just choose you as public enemy no. 1. In Rome they once allowed a national meeting and the same morning they canceled the permit (100 ppl participating). Recently the police were "friends" and the local istitutions were even encoraging this activity. So it really depends and you gotta live day by day.
