I miss Ren Faire. My husband and I have been to a few, and at times I just went with friends. My son had his little helmet, sword and shield for years. I have a walker now (albeit all terrain walker-they exist), so maybe we can get to one this year. And we can bring our small, four legged fest beasts. Thank you for a wonderful and fun video. I think you talked me into going to a faire. Edit: donut forget the possible skirts you can diy from thrifted table clothes.

I love Rennfaire! I have been to MI, KY, OH and along long time ago the one in NY , Sterling I believe. I used to dance ATS so I have 25 yd skirts that layer amazingly, are voluminous and tuck-able in a lot of configurations . Plus all the hip scarves, coin belts and jewelry. Hmm I may have to do some fairies this year.

Wikipedia said there are two in the UK (two big ones, so there probably more smaller ones) I had to Google what ren faire (Renaissance faire) even is. In Germany they are called "Middle ages Markt / fest" .

omg, you should definitely come to the texas renaissance festival. its really big and tons of shops, its amazing. but it's usually near the end of the year. starts sometime in october. ive gone, but never in costume bc im the type to "if i dont perfectly have everything for the exact costume in my head, im not wearing it" but arrghhh, i want to be a winter elf so bad, but I dont have anything to make that come true at the moment. so i always end up wearing something peasant-y or pirate-y 😭

I’m going to the ren faire I went to last year which is on my birthday this time so this time I want to dress to match my hair with a theme and be protected from the sun 😂 ever since I saw some mushroom hats on Pinterest I wanted to make one and be a mushroom fairy and I found a real mushroom that has all the colors of my hair from top to bottom bright purple pink and a bit of platinum (or in the mushrooms case cream) thought instead of a hat I’d try to make a mushroom parasol but I’ll see which way it will go. I’ve been hoarding an Amazon gift card since 2 bdays ago and now I finally know what I want or remembered 😂 definitely getting a purple dupe (might need to do a dye to get the right purple) and maybe a pink one gotta check out those skirts too I’m in love with layering and I want something airy and light. I love that you thrifted most of them cuz I keep thinking about going soon that and I just snatched back some dresses I was going to donate for the fabric 😅

Another word on corsets- getting a "real" corset rather than the clothes types corsety ones is also a good idea. Order a short torso if that is appropriate for your body and choose the highest # of bones available. Weird. I know.
